Pokemon GO: Spotlight Hours Schedule May 2022 – All Pokemon & Bonuses

All spotlight hours for May 2022, including all Pokemon and every bonus!

Get ready for catching, trainers! The newest Pokemon GO update is here, and with it, we know everything about May’s spotlight hours!

Spotlight hours are a weekly in-game feature. Every Tuesday between 6 PM and 7 PM local time, a different Pokemon will have hugely boosted spawns.

As well as a Pokemon being more common, there’s always a special bonus, too. This is a great opportunity for trainers looking to grind XP, Stardust, or Candy!

Pokemon GO May Spotlight Hours Pokemon And Bonuses

Wingull Spotlight Hour – May 3

The first spotlight hour of May is dedicated to Wingull! Wingull is a Water / Flying-type Pokemon that evolves into Pelipper with 50 Wingull Candies.

Every Pokemon you catch in the spotlight hour will give an added bonus of 2x Candy for catching Pokemon. If you’re looking at training up a Pelipper for your battle team, this is a great chance to get some candy!

If you’re lucky, you may encounter a shiny Wingull, too!

Numel Spotlight Hour – May 10

The second spotlight hour of May is dedicated to Numel! Numel is a Fire / Ground-type Pokemon that evolves into Camerupt with 50 Numel Candies.

This spotlight hour’s bonus is 2x Transfer Candy, meaning every Pokemon you transfer will earn you 2 candies instead of 1. If you’re in need of candy for your strongest Pokemon, consider waiting until May 10 to transfer any Pokemon!

While shiny Numel has not yet been added to the game, this is still a great opportunity to add this cute ‘Mon to your collection! We also know shiny Numel is confirmed for Pokemon GO Fest 2022 – check out our event overview for more news and shinies!

Magikarp Spotlight Hour – May 17

The third spotlight hour of May is dedicated to Magikarp! Magikarp is a Water-type Pokemon that evolves into Gyarados with 400 Magikarp Candies.

Every Pokemon you evolve in this spotlight hour will earn you 2x Evolution XP. This is a great opportunity to gain XP fast, especially if you use a lucky egg!

Try the free daily box trick to earn lucky eggs, among other rare items!

If you’re lucky, you may encounter a shiny Magikarp, too!

Seel Spotlight Hour – May 24

The penultimate spotlight hour of May is dedicated to Seel! Seel is a Water-type Pokemon that evolves into Dewgong with 400 Seel Candies.

Every Pokemon you catch in the spotlight hour will give an added bonus of 2x Stardust for catching Pokemon. If you use a Star Piece during this hour, that bonus goes up to a whopping 3x!

If you’re looking at powering up your Pokemon, you’ll need lots of Stardust, which makes this spotlight hour perfect for battlers! Find out if Seel and Dewgong made it onto our best Kanto Cup team guide here!

If you’re lucky, you may encounter a shiny Seel, too!

Pikipek Spotlight Hour – May 31

The final spotlight hour of May is dedicated to Pikipek! Wingull is a Normal / Flying-type Pokemon that evolves twice – first into Trumbeak, and finally into Toucannon.

This spotlight hour’s bonus grants 2x Catch XP! As Pikipek is an easy Pokemon GO catch, this is a great opportunity to gain lots of experience.

While shiny Pikipek has not yet been added to the game, Toucannon is a fantastic Flying-type Pokemon. Find out if Toucannon is among our recommended counters for Tapu Bulu raids here!

The Pokemon GO Fest 2022 Logo stands ahead of a foresty background. The following Pokemon can be seen playing together: Pikachu, Tropius, Shaymin, Shelmet, Rufflet, Axew, Unown, Empoleon, Karrablast, and Burmy (Trash Cloak).

This month, don’t miss out on the Mega Latias and Mega Latios raids – counters and weaknesses can be found here.

However, some trainers are less pleased. Recent updates have left some disabled players saying the game is “impossible” now!
