The dates Mega Latias and Latios make their debut as raids have been revealed! Find out everything you need to know about them here!
Both Pokemon are finally being added to Pokemon GO, something that fans have been hoping for, for a while! They’ll debut during the Pokemon Air Adventures event starting May 3.
In order to catch these Pokemon, you’ll need to defeat them in a battle first. After which, its CP will drop and you’ll have the opportunity to catch it!
Since Latias and Latios will be extremely powerful raids we recommend tackling them with at least 2 other players. This will stop you from wasting those useful Raid Passes!

Best Latias and Latios Raid Counters
Latias and Latios Type Weaknesses
Latias and Latios both share the same typing, which makes countering them slightly easier. The pair are Dragon/Psychic types leading to a plethora of weaknesses!
The following types will deal 160% damage to Mega Latias and Latios:
Ideally, you’ll want to bring Pokemon to the fight that has moves of the above types! However, use caution if you decide to bring a Dragon-type as Latios and Latias will be able to deal 160% damage to your ‘Mon!
There are also types that the pair are resistant to:
With moves of the above types only dealing 63% damage!
Best Pokemon To Use
Below is a list of 10 great Pokemon to use against Mega Latios and Latias!
- Galarian Darmanitan
- Chandelure (Who we found was also one of the best Pokemon to use during April 2022!)
Each of these Pokemon have at least 1 type that is super effective against Mega Latias and Latios!
Stats and Moves
After being captured Mega Latias and Latios have amazing stats!
Latias has the following:
- Max CP: 3,510
- Attack: 228
- Defense: 246
- Stamina: 190
Whilst Latios has:
- Max CP: 3,812
- Attack: 268
- Defense: 212
- Stamina: 190
Furthermore, if the Pokemon is caught during the event period (10 am, May 3 – 8 pm, May 8 local time) will know a special charged attack!
Latias will know the move Mist Ball. Whilst Latios will learn Luster Purge.
Both moves are charged attacks with the following properties:
- Trainer Battles: 120 power and the chance to lower an opponent’s attack (Mist Ball) or defense (Luster Purge)
- Gyms/Raids: 105 power (Mist Ball) or 100 power (Luster Purge)
Because of these great stats and moves, Latias and Latios are definitely Pokemon you should try and add to your team!
