September 2023’s Pokemon GO Community Day Classic features the iconic Gen 1 starter Charmander!
Of course, the main attraction of this event is the greatly increased Charmander spawns. However, there are some other great features, like two featured Charizard attacks, plenty of Research, and some handy bonuses!
September 2023 Charmander Community Day Classic Date & Time
The Pokemon GO Charmander Community Day Classic is taking place from 2 PM to 5 PM local time on September 2, 2023.

Charmander Community Day Classic Event Bonuses
The following bonuses will be active during the Pokemon GO Charmander Community Day Classic:
- 3x Stardust for catching Pokemon
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last three hours
- Incense activated during the event will last three hours
- Surprise snapshot encounters
Featured Charizard Attacks – Dragon Breath & Blast Burn
Evolving Charmeleon into Charizard from 2 PM to 7 PM local time on September 2, 2023, will give you a Charizard that knows two exclusive attacks – Dragon Breath and Blast Burn.
Dragon Breath is a Dragon-type fast attack that has 4 power against trainers and 6 power in Gyms and Raids.
Meanwhile, Blast Burn is a Fire-type charged attack that has 110 power in all battles.
Charmander Community Day Research
Themed Field Research will be available from spinning PokeStops during the Charizard Community Day Classic event. The rewards for completing these Field Research Tasks include:
- Charmander encounters
- Stardust
- Great Balls
- Charizard Mega Energy
Additionally, players will be able to complete Timed Research during the Community Day Classic to earn Charizard Mega Energy and XP!
Ticketed Special Research Story
Pokemon trainers can purchase the Charmander Community Day Classic Ticket from the in-game shop for $1 (or local currency equivalent).
Completing this Research will give players plenty of event-themed rewards such as Charmander Candy and encounters with the Charmander family!
