Pokemon GO Air Adventures Event

Pokemon Air Adventures Event

There are multiple things for players to look forward to during the event!

The event will run from May 3 (10 am) to May 8 (8 pm) local time, giving players more than enough time to enjoy everything this event has to offer!

New Pokemon

Two Pokemon are making their Mega Raid debuts – Mega Latios and Mega Latias! Both Pokemon look to be incredible additions to any team.

Furthermore, if players catch either Latios or Latias during the event period they will learn a unique move!

We’ve made a Raid Counter Guide here, so you can just focus on battling and catching them easily without worrying about type matchups.

Pikachu will also be getting a rare variant for the duration of the event – Flying Pikachu! This form sees Pikachu being held up by a bundle of balloons, similar to its appearance for the anniversary events.

It’s unlikely that Mega Latios and Latias will return to Mega raids for a good while after the event is over, meaning players should definitely try to catch them during the Air Adventures Event.

Similarly, the special form of Pikachu will likely only return during Pokemon GO Fest 2022, after which it’ll disappear for another year.

There are a number of Pokemon players that will see in the wild whilst the event is ongoing. These Pokemon are the following:

  • Flying Pikachu
  • Jigglypuff
  • Meowth
  • Psyduck
  • Doduo
  • Magikarp
  • Wingull
  • Swablu
  • Drifloon

All of which can be shiny! Lucky players also have the ability to encounter:

  • Charizard
  • Mantine

Who also have the potential to be shiny. The Air Adventures Event promises to be great for shiny hunters!

Field Research & Timed Research

After completing Field Research missions players will be able to encounter 4 specific Pokemon. They are Flying Pikachu, Doduo, Swablu, and Emolga.

Emolga is the only Pokemon of the four who does not have the potential to be shiny.

The Timed Research during the Air Adventures Event will focus on players catching Pikachu and Flying-type Pokemon! Completing this research will allow players to gain:

  • Mega Latias energy x 50
  • Mega Latios energy x 50
  • 3,000 XP
  • An encounter with Flying Pikachu

Naturally, there will be new featured raids during the event!

The Pokemon featuring in three star raids during the Air Adventures Event are:

  • Charizard
  • Lapras
  • Togekiss

The Mega Raids will feature Mega Latias and Mega Latios.

Players should take note of the best team for April 2022 and stock up on Pokemon to battle with, since this event is in early May!

Eggs & Event Bonuses

The following Pokemon will hatch from 7km Eggs during the event:

  • Togepi
  • Mantyke
  • Emolga
  • Noibat

Togepi has the potential to be shiny too!

Also, eggs placed in an incubator during the event period have their hatch distance cut by 50% – the perfect time to start hatching those 12km eggs!

Players will also be able to purchase event-themed stickers from the in-game shop. Players that own a ticket from the Air Adventures live event (May 7-8) will be able to get event-themed stickers through spinning Pokestops and opening gifts.

With so much happening in May, players should keep their eyes on the events currently ongoing such as the Mega Moment event!
