Pokemon GO’s yearly event that celebrates exploration, Adventure Week, is back for 2023, and there’s loads to look forward to.
Of course, there will be loads of Fossil Pokemon such as Omanyte, Kabuto, Lileep, and Anorith spawning in the wild during the event, but there are some exciting new Raid bosses to battle and plenty of Research to complete too!
2023 Adventure Week Date & Time
The 2023 Pokemon GO Adventure Week event starts at 10 AM local time on July 27 and ends at 8 PM local time on August 2.

This gives players seven whole days to experience all of the new content in Adventure Week!
2023 Adventure Week Bonuses
The following three bonuses will be active throughout 2023 Adventure Week:
- 2× XP for spinning PokeStops
- 5× XP for spinning a PokeStop for the first time
- 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators
2023 Adventure Week Wild Spawns
The following Pokemon will be spawning in the wild more frequently in Adventure Week:
- Omanyte
- Kabuto
- Aerodactyl
- Lileep
- Anorith
- Cranidos
- Shieldon
- Tirtouga
- Archen
- Tyrunt
- Amaura
What’s more, all of these Pokemon also have their shiny versions available to catch!
All 7km Egg Hatches in 2023 Adventure Week
Any 7km Egg obtained during the 2023 Adventure Week event will contain one of these four Pokemon:
- Amaura
- Archen
- Tirtouga
- Tyrunt
The shiny versions of all four of these Pokemon can be hatched. Plus, Tyrunt and Amaura hatched from these Eggs have boosted shiny odds!
Mega & Legendary Raid Bosses
The 2023 Adventure Week event has two very exciting Raid bosses available to battle.
Regidrago is in 5-star Raids, after previously being exclusive to Elite Raids. Meanwhile, Mega Tyranitar is making its Pokemon GO debut in Tier 4 Mega Raids!
Research & Challenges
Finally, Adventure Week 2023 is also adding plenty of Research and Challenges for players to complete:
- Free Timed Research
- Trainers can choose between exploration and Research-focused tasks
- Ticketed Timed Research
- Tasks that require exploring and the rewards include Incubators and encounters with Fossil Pokemon
- New Adventure Week Field Research Tasks
- Competing these rewards players with Fossil Pokemon encounters
- Adventure Week Collection Challenge
- Earn encounters with Tyrunt and Amaura for completing this
