Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl Reveals Platinum Content

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are coming this year, and a new spot reveals that they may have Platinum content included.

Years after Gen 4's official release, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are releasing in 2021. Finally, fans of the series will be able to return to the Sinnoh region, complete with two full remakes.

But players are already questioning what will be happening to extra content found in Pokemon Platinum. After all, with the Gen 3 remakes, a Deoxys and Rayquaza side-story was added to fill in the gaps left by the original games' time-sensitive events.

Now, we seem to already have our answer as to where the Platinum content might be hiding.

But many fans are glossing over Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl entirely, in favor of the new Breath of the Wild-style Pokemon game.

Pokemon Platinum Features in Diamond and Pearl Remakes

It seems that we won't be getting a separate Pokemon Platinum remake to go alongside Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

This reveal comes from eagle-eyed fans who have been carefully analyzing the upcoming games' trailer. And by doing so, they've come across a very interesting reveal, that hints at the future of Platinum.

As one fan points out, there's an intriguing NPC that appears in the trailer for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. And this special character was last seen in Platinum, exclusively.

The Floaroma Town NPC is the same character that gives players the Gracidea. This item changes Legendary Pokemon Shaymin from Land Forme to Sky Forme.

The Key Item was first introduced in Pokemon Platinum, alongside Shaymin's alternate form. And its return in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl means that some Platinum content is confirmed to be present in the new games.

This could also include Giratina's Origin Forme and additional Distortion World story. The same goes for Rotom's additional forms and more.

We'd like to think that new developer ILCA left this clue in the trailer for fans to discover.

Today is officially Pokemon Day! Here's everything happening today for Pokemon's 25th anniversary.
