The Detroit: Become Human demo has just been released today via the PSN store (2.9GB). Being the latest, highly anticipated, game out of the Quantic Dream studios, its full release will be on 25th May 2018.
Quantic Dream, for over two decades, has brought players some of the most immersive, interactive games. Titles such as Fahrenheit, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls provide intense gameplay whilst simultaneously creating this almost real sense of rapport with the characters. This is mainly due to the heavy, choice-driven, style of play, with multiple outcomes based on a players decision. From the footage we saw at E3 in 2016 and the information provided by Quantic Dream, it seems that this game will follow heavily in a similar fashion.
SPOILER WARNING – The information below will provide details about the mission/demo and may spoil the organic experience from some players.
What’s in the Detroit: Become Human demo?
The demo that is live, as of now, on the PSN store, will allow players to experience the first mission in the game.
The year is 2038 and you are cast upon a dreary, Detroit rooftop. You will be faced with a series of choices, each of which will perhaps drastically affect the outcome of the scenario. Connor, the leading protagonist, has to hunt, search and scavenge the apartment and rooftop for clues to help him with his investigations. The information and clues found, must aid you in rescuing a little girl who is being held captive by a rogue android.
Her fate is in your hands. Act diligently, investigate thoroughly and choose wisely.
This Detroit: Become Human demo will ease new players into a niche but also an iconic style of gameplay. Whilst serving a welcome flourish of nostalgia to those die-hard Quantic Dream fans. With only a month to go until the full release of the game, this will serve as a pleasant appetiser for those of us who are eagerly awaiting this title.
