PlayStation State of Play Announced Featuring Ratchet & Clank, and More

There’s a new PlayStation State of Play on the way, and Ratchet & Clank fans are in luck!

PlayStation’s State of Play events are always worthwhile tuning in to. Like the popular Nintendo Direct format, State of Plays shows off the very best incoming projects for the PS4 and PS5.

The last time we saw a PlayStation State of Play event was February. Here’s everything we saw, including Crash Bandicoot, Returnal, FNAF: Security Breach, and more!

This time around, it looks as though the focus is on one of the most highly anticipated PS5 games of 2021. And now, as we draw closer to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s release date, we’re getting new details about the upcoming sequel.

PlayStation State of Play – April 29, 2021

In a surprise new announcement, PlayStation reveals that it will be hosting a new State of Play event on April 29.

The showcase will finally reveal some ‘extended gameplay’ for the upcoming PS5 exclusive, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Besides the new gameplay trailer, this will be our first real chance at seeing the next-gen game in action.

What’s more, it looks as though the PlayStation event will also feature updates for “a pair of upcoming indie titles.” Right now, we don’t know exactly what the company is showing off, but fans are optimistic for more footage of Kena: Bridge of Spirits.

New Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Gameplay Trailer

In a brand-new gameplay trailer for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Insomniac Games finally shows off more footage of its long-awaited adventure game. We get new insight into the game’s plot, mechanics, and the new Lombax character: Rivet.

In the upcoming State of Play, Insomniac Games will show off more than 15 minutes of fresh gameplay. And what’s more, players will have other new content to look forward to.

We won’t be hearing more about the new Last of Us or Uncharted games just yet. However, hopeful fans are eager to discover exactly what Sony’s upcoming response to Xbox Game Pass is going to be.

Recently, a new leak revealed this incredible bonus coming to PlayStation Plus. And the Sony Boss also took time to discuss its plan for more exclusives.

On top of all that, Sony’s PlayStation Home function is also rumored to return. We’re not sure what the new State of Play has in store for us, but at the very least we’ll be getting some solid Ratchet & Clank content!
