The first set of free PS Plus games for 2020 are now available to download via the official store. As the next month draws even closer, fans are beginning to wonder what Sony has up their sleeve. Here are our predictions for the free PlayStation Plus games in February 2020.
Sony usually announces upcoming PS Plus games on the last Wednesday of every month. If this tradition stands, you can expect an announcement on January 29th. Either way, here’s what free PS Plus games might be on the horizon for Feb 2020.
1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Although The Witcher 4 doesn’t appear to be on the horizon for any time too soon, there’s no reason why the latest title within the series won’t release for free. The action-packed role-playing game made its debut in the middle of 2015 and has since amassed a bevy of incredible reviews.
In addition to this, it’s also worth noting that The Witcher series has recently launched on Netflix. With this in mind, there’s no better time to make The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt available for free if you have a PS Plus subscription.
2. No Man’s Sky
This title has been available for quite some time now. In fact, it released over two years ago on August 9th, 2016. The survival game might seem like an unlikely candidate, but with the likes of Titanfall 2 available for free, there’s no reason why it can’t. Any alternatives which are on the same level as this will be an excellent reward, either way.
After rumors of a deleted tweet revealing that Overwatch 2 will release in 2020, perhaps now is the time to release the original game for free. The critically-acclaimed first-person shooter is well beyond its two year anniversary, releasing on May 24, 2016. Although an AAA title similar to this seems far from likely, if it were to launch on the service, there would be no better time than the present.
4. Zombie Army Trilogy
Last but not least. Zombie Army 4: Dead War is due to release on February 4th, so the original makes a likely candidate for next month. Besides this, those who purchase the upcoming game will likely want to catch up on the franchise beforehand.
While all of these have a fair chance of appearing, it’s important to note that these are merely predictions. With this in mind, the chances are that only one or two of the above will be featured next month.
As we prepare for February, you can enjoy what the January 2020 lineup has to offer in the meantime. This includes the likes of Goat Simulator and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, so let’s hope next month will follow suit with similar games.
