Rumoured PS5 Games (Unconfirmed)
Each game on the below list is currently unconfirmed, but we think each is highly likely to appear on PS5 at some point in the near future. If not inevitable in some cases.
BioShock 4
We know a BioShock 4 is in the works, along with a new setting to replace the iconic rapture. So far nothing else is known about the game, but we’re confident it will appear on PS5 when it is released.
Bloodborne 2
The original Bloodborne was fantastic and was a real boon for the PS4. The more aggressive take on the standard Dark Souls formula worked well. Rumours about Bloodborne 2 have existed for years, and they are getting louder.
Dying Light 2
We know Dying Light 2 is on the way, and with the current gen soon to become last gen, we expect it will find a home on PS5.
Dead Island 2
The sequel to dead island has been stuck in an undead development hell since the original was released. Recent updates suggest the game is back in development and could arrive on PS5 at some point.
Diablo 4
Its predecessor was given a new lease of life once it was released on current gen consoles. Diablo 4 is slated for release next year on PS4. It makes sense for it also to come to PS5 too.
Elder Scrolls 6
The Elder Scrolls Online is great, but it’s not the Skyrim follow up the world needs. Bethesda are working on Elder Scrolls 6 as we speak but have remained tight-lipped on details. We’ve been given a pretty, but rather unhelpful teaser video but that’s it. Many fans are hoping to take a trip to the deserts of Hammerfell for their next trip to Tamriel.
Final Fantasy 7: Remake (Various episodes)
FF7 remake is an episodic game and so far, only the first episode has been released. By the time part 2 arrives next gen will be current gen. Therefore, we expect all future FF7 episodes will arrive on PS5 eventually.
Final Fantasy 14
FF14 is one of the most popular MMOs of all time. It’s release on PS5 is simply inevitable. Although nothing is confirmed so far.
Final Fantasy 16
More Final Fantasy? You know it. The 16th main entry in the eternal franchise exists somewhere at Square-Enix. We believe it’s only a matter of time until we see it.
Ghosts of Tsushima
This is a title that could be considered one of the last great games of PS4. Although with the console due to be replaced, it seems likely that a remastered version will arrive on PS5.
GTA 6
We’ll be covering our predictions for GTA 6 in greater detail very soon. But until then we can only compile the evidence and speculate about its setting. Could it be time to return to Vice City?
God of War 4
The last outing of Kratos breathed new life into the aging franchise and made it one of the most celebrated games on PS4. We think it will also arrive on PS5 at some point in the near future.
God of War 5
Speaking of Kratos, his Nordic adventures seem to have just begun. God of War 5 seems highly likely, and PS5 would be its natural home.
Gods & Monsters
This was revealed at E3 2019 and PS5 seems to be where it’s headed. Just waiting for official confirmation from the developers.
Horizon Zero Dawn
With its sequel confirmed and in active development on the PS5, it seems logical that the original will be ported to the new console at some point.
Lords of The Fallen 2
LotF 2 is back in active development. The first was admittedly a Dark Souls clone, but it had its own charm and real potential for worldbuilding. PS5 looks like an inevitable home for this title.
Mass Effect Trilogy
A remastered Mass Effect Trilogy has been rumoured for a long time. The question is; what are Bioware waiting for? We think we have the answer – PS5.
Monster Hunter World
Monster Hunter World has been very successful on current-gen and the game is only partway through its lifecycle. A special edition featuring all DLC seems likely for the PS5 in the not so far future.
Red Dead Redemption 2
This old west simulator from Rockstar was one of the most celebrated games of the current generation. Large open-world games like this have a tendency to be remastered on future consoles. Don’t be surprised if Red Dead Redemption 2 appears on PS5.
Resident Evil 4 (Remake)
After the success of the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes, rumours about Resident Evil 4 getting the same treatment have reached fever pitch. The estimated release date (according to a reliable Redditor) is 2022. Meaning it would likely appear on the PS5.
Silent Hill
The previous chapter of Silent Hill (titled Silent Hills) never saw the light of day due to Hideo Kojima leaving Konami. The ‘Playable Teaser’ revolutionised the survival horror genre and new rumours suggest a Silent Hill game is in the works.
Spider-Man (2018)
With stand-alone DLC Miles Morales expected as a PS5 launch title, it seems logical that the original game will be remastered to appear alongside it. We fully expect Marvel’s Spider-Man to find a new home on PS5 when the console arrives this year.
Starfield
Bethesda has not just been busy with Elder Scrolls 6. Their newest project is set in space, something that has Skyrim and Fallout fans very excited. There’s no more information or a release date yet, but we expect PS5 will be the platform this game releases on.
System Shock
Not only is a new Bioshock in the works, but it’s spiritual predecessor System Shock is also making a comeback. We’d be surprised if it wasn’t planned for next-gen.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Quarantine
The game's existence is no secret; the only question is when will a PS5 announcement be made? We’re confident it will be.
