Avalanche Software has confirmed that the beloved pesky poltergeist Peeves will be appearing in Hogwarts Legacy.

Developer Avalanche Software has been offering players small bits of information surrounding their upcoming adventure game Hogwarts Legacy.

The latest aspect of the game it has showcased is the role that the infamous Peeves will play. The developer has also been kind enough to reveal a number of new spells that will be in Hogwarts Legacy.

Is Peeves in Hogwarts Legacy?

It has been confirmed that the popular poltergeist from the Harry Potter books, Peeves, will be in Hogwarts Legacy.

In one of several videos posted to the Hogwarts Legacy Instagram page, Peeves can be seen juggling in front of a student. Beneath it is the caption “Avoid Peeves at all costs,” although the video description adds ‘…or don’t.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the lovable spirit who has appeared both in the books and in several video games. In fact, he even appeared in a previous trailer for Hogwarts Legacy.

Peeves and Sebastian Sallow from Hogwarts Legacy in the Restricted Section

During the State of Play gameplay reveal trailer, at 10:37 we see Peeves with Sebastian Sallow. The two of them are exiting the Restricted Section, which players may be able to explore in Hogwarts Legacy.

It’s unclear what kind of a role Peeves will play, especially if we’re being told to avoid him. But it stands to reason that he may assist with any mischief players may get up to.

Who Is Peeves in Harry Potter?

Peeves is a poltergeist famous for pulling pranks on the students of Hogwarts and pestering them as much as he can. Outside of some braver moments, annoying others is his primary purpose.

In the books, he becomes fond of students like Fred and George Weasley but tends to annoy practically anyone else.

It is only during the Battle of Hogwarts that Peeves actually benefits the students in any way as he helps fight against Voldermort’s army. However, movie-only fans may never have seen the mischievous poltergeist before!

Hopefully, the news of Peeves joining the game’s ever-growing cast will ease the pain of the sad truth about Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy.
