To nobody’s surprise, Pay-to-Win GobbleGums are making a return in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s first seasonal update – but at least we can still earn them for free!
GobbleGums are back after a 9-year hiatus, having made their debut all the way back in Black Ops 3. In the 2015 title, these consumable candies had to be crafted using Liquid Divinium, which could be obtained randomly when spending points in COD Zombies.
However, you could also purchase Liquid Divinium using premium currency.

And since the resource didn’t guarantee a specific GobbleGum drop, providing only a chance at obtaining a high-tier consumable, the mechanic was seen to be Pay-to-Win.
Now, it appears that history is repeating itself – though we’d say the system is not quite as bad this time around.
Pay-to-Win GobbleGum in Black Ops 6
Beginning in Season 1, Activision has officially announced that premium GobbleGum bundles are now available in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in-game Store.
Players are now able to stop grinding in-game and simply open their wallets to unlock some of the best GobbleGums that Black Ops 6 Zombies has to offer.

In the official Season 1 Battle Pass blog, Activision revealed its ‘GobbleGum Master’ pack which contains 12 single-use GobbleGums for instant use in Zombies mode.
For the price of 1,100 COD Points (~$10), the pack includes the following one-time-use consumables:
| GobbleGum | Rarity | Effect |
| Hidden Power | Ultra | Upgrades Your Current Weapon to Legendary Rarity |
| Perkaholic | Ultra | Gives You All Perks in the Map |
| Reign Drops | Ultra | Spawns all the Core Power Ups |
| Near Death Experience | Ultra | Revive or Be Revived Simply By Being Near Other Players. Revived Players Keep All Perks |
| Wonderbar! | Ultra | Next Mystery Box Pull Will Be a Wonder Weapon |
| On the House | Legendary | Spawns a Free Perk Power Up |
| Phoenix Up | Legendary | Revives All Teammates With Their Perks |
| Idle Eyes | Legendary | All Zombies Ignore All Players |
| Wall Power | Legendary | The Next Wall Buy Comes Pack-a-Punched |
| Crate Power | Legendary | The Next Mystery Box Weapon Comes Pack-a-Punched |
| Wall-to-Wall Clearance | Legendary | All Wall Buys Cost 10 Essence |
| Immolation Liquidation | Legendary | Spawns a Fire Sale Power Up |
Activision is also offering less overpowered bundles at 500 and 200 COD Points, for those not wishing to spend the cost of a full Battle Pass on GobbleGums.

In addition, 13 GobbleGums are being added to the Season 1 Battle Pass, including a variety of Legendary and Ultra-tier drops.
This gives players even more ways to skip the Zombies grind and unlock powerful rewards by playing other modes.
Thankfully, for those happy to part with their hard-earned cash, your purchase won’t leave anything to chance this time around.
What Does This Mean for Black Ops 6 Zombies?
This change could indicate that future Zombies maps, such as Season 1 Reloaded’s Citadelle des Morts, will be more difficult than the launch offerings, thereby incentivizing people to spend real money on high-tier GobbleGums.
If future bundles contain new GobbleGums that are added to the game as seasonal content, then the only guaranteed way of getting to use that consumable on day one will be by paying for it.
Of course, Activision is known for giving players ways to skip the grind for cash. After all, each new Battle Pass gun usually comes hand-in-hand with a Store bundle that lets you unlock it instantly.

For now, it’s important to note that you can earn GobbleGums in-game simply by surviving Rounds in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
And during Double XP weekends, it appears that Treyarch will even offer Double GobbleGum drops for the bonus XP period too!
But even then, you’re never actually guaranteed to earn the highest tier GobbleGums without paying real money. Therefore, some players may resort to buying their way to victory – particularly if they just used up their last Legendary GobbleGum trying to beat a tricky Easter Egg Main Quest!
