If you are an Overwatch fan, there is some fantastic news for Overwatch 2 Season 1 and 2!

Blizzard took the stage today and keeps on delivering good news for Overwatch 2 fans.

A few days ago, during the Xbox & Bethesda conference, Blizzard announced Overwatch 2 PvP would be Free to Play.

At that time, the developer also revealed more news was coming soon. Today, Blizzard announced many new details about Overwatch 2, including important highlights about Seasons 1 and 2.

Here is everything we know about Seasons 1 and 2 of Overwatch 2!

Season 1 & 2 Release Date – Seasons Information

Overwatch Seasons will roll out every nine weeks. The first season starts on October 4, followed by Season 2 on December 6.

According to the developer, the 9-week content cadence will continue for all upcoming seasons. Each season can include either a new hero, a new map or a new game mode.

PvE mode is also coming to Overwatch 2 in 2023.

Overwatch 2 Season 1 will debut with all the Overwatch hero roster and three additional new heroes:

Additionally, Blizzard revealed Season 2 will also include a new tank hero. A new hero is scheduled every other season.

Overwatch 2 Season 1 debuts with six new maps, including:

  • Circuit Royal – Monte Carlo
  • Midtown – New York
  • New Queen Street – Toronto
  • Colosseo – Rome
  • Portugal
  • Rio

Furthermore, Season 2 will also debut a brand new map. Like heroes, a new map is scheduled to launch every other season.

Game Modes

Season 1 of Overwatch 2 brings the new Push PvP game mode. This is the mode that gamers have playtested during the beta.

In essence, this mode challenges players to move a barricade to the opposing team’s territory.

However, Season 2 will not feature any new modes.

Overwatch 2 Loot Boxes Information

Fortunately, developers announced that Overwatch 2 would not include any type of loot box system.

To replace this system, players can now get the cosmetics and items they want directly from the game’s Battle Pass.
