The Overwatch 2 Closed Beta has already been datamined, including images of the Title Screen and hints at a Battle Pass system.
Overwatch 2’s first Closed Beta is planned to start on April 26. This will be the first time we can play it since its announcement in 2019.
While not everyone will be invited to try Overwatch 2, it’ll be fun to see what changes are made to the already-great Overwatch formula!
However, it seems some of Overwatch 2’s assets have already been datamined and leaked. And it includes some pretty big finds.
Overwatch 2 Leak Shows Title Screen, Reveals Battle Pass and PvE Details
Helba, the owner of Blizztrack, recently tweeted some details regarding the Overwatch 2 Closed Beta. This includes the file size, the title screen, and a Battle Pass system.
While many of the details were originally in a Discord server, Helba has been tweeting some details about the data mining.
The first tweet gave insight into Overwatch 2’s Closed Beta file size. The file size is said to be a fairly small 12Gb.
We next got a screenshot of the opening title screen, which bears a lot of resemblance to that of the first Overwatch’s login screen.
The next lot of leaks was some code regarding PvE Progression. Unlocked Heroes suggests that over the course of the story, you’ll gain access to new heroes.
There were also some hints at a form of currency, possibly, called Hero Shards. Alongside this, were Hero Progression codes, which mean that each hero will likely level up during the campaign.
The final big leak was a line of code for a Battle Pass client in Overwatch 2. While there’s no information regarding the Battle Pass system yet or how it works, it’s interesting to know it exists in some capacity.
We hope there’s more information to come out soon. However, we will likely see more when the Overwatch 2 Closed Beta starts.
