Best Sojourn Strategy in Overwatch 2: Tips & Tricks

Looking to make the most out of Vivian Chase (AKA Sojourn) in Overwatch 2? Here are some handy tips to help you dominate the enemy team.

We’ll be giving you a brief rundown of Sojourn and her abilities here, as well as explaining how to use them for best results. As another DPS character, what sets the Canadian hero apart from the competition?

Power Slide

Perhaps Sojourn’s most unique ability is the Power Slide. This movement tool can be used to zip across the battlefield in an instant.

Jumping at the end of your slide will result in Sojourn soaring into the air. This ability can give you an easy way to get to hard-to-reach areas, and it’s perfect for escaping when you’re in a pinch.

Bear in mind that you don’t need to fully complete your slide to launch up into the air. Sojourn can be somewhat unpredictable with her movement, and is definitely one of the hardest DPS characters to fully master.

A great tactic to catch some players unaware involves sliding directly at them while shooting. When you get close, jump into the air and fire down on their head before they can properly react!

Sojourn’s weapon is a powerful Railgun, with two modes of fire. The primary fire will shoot out rapid energy projectiles, with the gun acting similar to Soldier’s weapon.

However, after generating enough energy by striking enemies, Sojourn can blast the enemy team with her secondary fire, a powerful Railgun beam that deals massive damage. This blast is so powerful that you’ll be able to take out a lower-health hero with a single headshot.

It should also be noted that the Railgun secondary fire has no damage falloff, so you’re free to use it at any range!

Sojourn will act as a combination of Soldier 76 and Widowmaker, fighting on the front lines before using her Power Slide to get some height on the enemy. If possible, target squishy targets with your Railgun shot to eliminate the enemy support or DPS and help your team progress.

Disruptor Shot

With the Disruptor Shot, Sojourn can launch a blast that slows and damages enemies in an AOE. This move is great for chokeholds, and there are many of these tight spaces in Overwatch 2’s new maps!

By catching enemies in the Disruptor field, it becomes much easier to nail targets with the Railgun shot. And if you’re able to use the Disruptor effectively, it gives you a perfect opportunity to use your Ultimate.

But Disruptor’s ability to deal damage shouldn’t go underestimated either. Use it in combination with Zarya’s Graviton Surge or even on a contested objective to greatly weaken your foes.

Overclock – Ultimate

Overclock is Sojourn’s Ultimate ability, giving her an auto-charging Railgun and one that can pierce through enemies. In many ways, this ability is a skill-based Ult, similar to a ranged version of Genji’s Dragonblade.

If you can hit your shots, you’ll tear through the enemy team with ease. In order to capitalize, try and flank your enemies and hit them with a Disruptor before activating your Overclock.

This ability also works well in chokeholds, or when enemies are trying to stay on the objective. Try and make use of Sojourn‘s piercing shot as best you can, and use Power Slide to quickly get into position.

Make sure you take advantage of your time as Sojourn before the Overwatch 2 Beta end date! This powerful new DPS is a monster in the right hands!
