Destruction of Verdansk Event Removes Original Warzone Map Forever

The original Verdansk map in Warzone won’t ever be coming back!

Warzone fans had been asking for a new map for ages, but now that the new Verdansk ’84 is here, the original is gone.

In case you missed it, a nuke was fired at the old Warzone map in the Destruction of Verdansk event. Then, players transported back to 1984, to the new Warzone map.

Yes, we know the new map is also in Verdansk. However, there are loads of changes:

The player base will probably decide over the next few days if they like the new map or not. Let’s hope that everyone likes it though, as new information has revealed that the old Verdasnk will never return…

Modern Verdansk Warzone Map Gone Forever?

In the Season 3 studio broadcast, Amos Hodge, Associate Creative Director for Raven Software, revealed some interesting information about Verdansk. He said:

“Players don’t know it, but current day Verdansk, they’ll never play in that state again. Current day Verdansk is gone and it’s not coming back.”

Hodge also revealed information about the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Warzone.

So there you go, the original Verdansk Warzone map will never be coming back. This will of course come as a disappointment to some fans, however, the game has now moved on.

Warzone Verdansk '84

Let’s hope to see more updates to Verdansk ’84 and possibly even some of the new rumored maps in the future.

A reliable leaker has revealed that Warzone could get a WWII-themed map. Meanwhile, other leakers claim that the Ural Mountains map could never come out.
