Oathbound Chests are a new addition to Fortnite’s Chapter 4 and you can get some of the best loot in the game by opening them!
Getting the best loot at the start of a match can set you up for victory! Having the best weapons, full shield and health are important in winning in Fortnite.
One of the best ways to guarantee you have all three is to open Oathbound chests but where can you find them?
Best Places to Find Oathbound Chests in Fortnite
The best places to find an Oathbound Chest in Fortnite are in the following POIs which each have a few to offer.
- The Citadel
- Anvil Square
- Shattered Slabs
- Faulty Splits
These large white chests and will only spawn in the yellow/orange landscapes on the Fortnite map.
Oathbound chests will drop a ton of loot such as the new Shockwave Hammer and the Ex-Caliber Rifle!
Spawn Locations of Oathbound Chests in Fortnite
Based on what we have experienced, these chests will always spawn in specific locations on the map.
Here is every location we have found:

Here are a few of the more notable and easy to find chest locations:
East of Shattered Slabs
There is an Oathbound chest to the east of Shattered Slabs. The chest will be in the pool of water between the Shattered Slabs area and the Frenzy Fields area.
Faulty Splits
There are two Oathbound chests near each other in Faulty Splits.
The first chest is found in the southernmost building. You can land directly on the roof and break it with your harvesting tool to access it as soon as you land.
The second Oathbound chest can be found in the attic of the very next building to the west in Faulty Splits.
Anvil Square
An Oathbound chest will spawn in the northmost building in Anvil Square. The chest is on the left-hand side of this building.
You will need to make your way to the second floor and look for the bookshelf. Break the bookshelf and the chest will be hidden behind it.
The Citadel
The Citadel has four notable Oathbound chests that spawn.
The first is discovered by breaking the floor on the steps that lead up to the castle. Once you break the floor, you can jump down and open the chest!
The next chest will spawn to the right in the throne room. You will just need to enter the front of the castle to get to it!
The third location is between the double-sided staircase located at the back of the castle.
The last Oathbound chest location in The Citadel is located on the top floor of the castle. You can enter this room by landing on the roof of the castle.
It will be located behind the large stone statue!
As part of your Fortnite challenges, you might have a task to open these chests! Knowing where exactly to find them will be important!
