The Warzone Season 1 Reloaded update nerfed the only two meta MW2 guns for Warzone – the M13B and ISO 9mm. This means that no Modern Warfare 2 weapons are viable for battle royale!
There are over 100 weapons in Warzone, yet only a select few are powerful enough to be meta. Ever since the MW3 integration into Warzone, the meta was almost exclusively made up of Modern Warfare 3 guns, but there were a couple of exceptions.
The M13B was one of the best assault rifles in Warzone, while the ISO 9mm actually had a faster time-to-kill than any other SMG in the game. However, no other MW2 weapon was worth using.
Unfortunately, both of these guns were nerfed in Season 1 Reloaded, meaning that no good MW2 guns are left!
Warzone Season 1 Reloaded Nerfs M13B & ISO 9mm
The weapon balancing in Warzone Season 1 Reloaded significantly nerfed the damage of both the M13B and ISO 9mm. This has made the TTK of both of these weapons slower and forced them out of the meta.
While both of these guns were quite powerful, there were very few complaints about them from players. This meant that the damage decreases caught many Warzone fans by surprise, especially considering that overpowered guns like the MTZ Interceptor and WSP Swarm avoided nerfs.
However, some Warzone players believe that Raven Software wants to remove MW2 guns from the meta entirely.
Does Raven Want to Remove MW2 Guns from Meta?
While Raven Software has not explained the reasoning behind the nerfs to the M13B and ISO 9mm, it certainly seems like the developer wants to sideline Modern Warfare 2 weapons.
Weapon builds expert Warzone Loadout says that Raven Software wants to “completely remove MW2 guns from the meta”, and plenty of upset players agree.
The nerfing of the M13B and ISO 9mm has also caused players to question the decision to keep MW2 guns in Warzone after the MW3 integration.
Warzone YouTuber Westie also questions why MW2 guns are still in the game if they are not competitive. He said: “What was the point of Carry Forward?” and described Modern Warfare 2 guns as “pointless to use”, following the Season 1 Reloaded nerfs.
Do you think that Raven Software is nerfing MW2 guns to keep them out of the meta? Hopefully, in future weapon balance updates, we will see some buffs for MW2 guns to make them viable again!
