Animal Crossing New Horizons Release Date Revealed

Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch

Last year, Nintendo announced that one of their most beloved franchises would be introduced to the Switch console. Now, we finally have an Animal Crossing New Horizons release date for Switch – and it’s not what you expect.

Animal Crossing was first revealed back in September 2018, courtesy of a Nintendo Direct livestream. Although many acclaimed the new mainline title’s initial announcement, Nintendo, unfortunately, left some details under wraps.

Animal Crossing Release Date for Nintendo Switch

Nintendo initially announced the title with a 1 minute and 23-second teaser trailer, confirming that the game was a work-in-progress. In addition to the trailer, they also mentioned that it would be releasing in 2019.

While there wasn’t any news since the instalment was revealed back in 2018, all eyes were eagerly awaiting an update from Nintendo at E3 2019.

Unfortunately, it appears as though the Animal Crossing Switch release date has been delayed. Alongside a further look at the game, we now know that the Animal Crossing Switch release date will be March 20, 2020.

Although this is technically just around the corner, avid fans of the game may not feel the same way. If you’re a little too excited and feel you can’t wait this long, then don’t worry. While your new home is in preparation, you can play other Animal Crossing titles in the meantime.

Playable Nintendo E3 2019 Titles

Nintendo recently announced that the following games would be playable at E3 2019. While Animal Crossing wasn’t on that list, several die-hard began to get a little worried.

  • Pokemon Sword and Shield
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
  • Ultimate Alliance 3
  • Luigi’s Mansion 3
  • …and more

In addition to the Animal Crossing Switch release date, the Big N has also revealed a whole host of new games. Further to this, they have also provided release updates for an array of other anticipated games.

We’ll be posting a recap of the Nintendo Direct after the presentation. Stay tuned.

Although Microsoft unveiled its next-gen console, many believe Nintendo has nabbed star of the show instead. What are your thoughts?
