The 2018 Pokémon Video Game Press Conference took place in the early hours of this morning. A lot of things were revealed such as Pokémon Quest and the trailer for Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee. Another item announced was an untitled core RPG Pokémon game. It is set to release in the second half of 2019.
RPG Pokémon Game
The conference was held in Tokyo, Japan today. The news was released at 10am JST. Aside from the big news revealing Pokémon Let’s Go, another new game was announced. The Official Pokémon Twitter tweeted out saying that trainers can expect “an all-new core series Pokémon RPG title in development for the second half of 2019”.
Details are scarce at the moment as the conference was focused on the upcoming games. All we know at present is that the games will be similar to traditional games, such as Pokémon X and Y.
Assumedly, this means traditional catching methods. This would be in comparison to the Pokémon-Go catching method that will be seen in the new Switch games. In the game, you can use a Pokéball attachment to catch Pokémon when you’re out and about.
Other Pokémon Announcements
The trailer for Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee was released today. It shows the typical Pokémon setting. You can connect the Nintendo Switch game to your Pokémon Go app. This means that Pokémon you catch in-app can be shared to your Switch console.
In addition to this, it looks as if you can gift Pokémon to a friend. This is a feature that many players have asked for since the mobile game was released.
Another game that was announced today was Pokémon Quest. It is a free-to-start game for Switch and Mobile. Players find themselves on Tumblecube Island. You can travel round the island with three Pokémon to uncover its secrets. Furthermore, the Pokémon you have will be personable using items called Power Stones.
With all these recent developments for Pokémon, which are you most looking forward to?
