For many, the days of Pokemon Go are long forgotten but Niantic is hoping that a new update will bring players flooding back over the summer months.
A recent update on the official Pokemon Go twitter account has made it known that Alolan Pokemon from the games Pokemon Sun and Moon will be arriving on the mobile game for the very first time.
“Get ready for some of the Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region to appear in their Alolan forms! These unique variants were first seen in the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon video games, and they will make their way to Pokémon GO in the coming weeks,” the Pokemon GO team have stated in an announcement on their website.
Alongside this announcement is the image of a sunny beach and the shadowed outlines of many Alolan Pokemon. From Alolan Raichu to Alolan Ratata it seems as if all the Alolan Pokemon will be coming to the mobile game over the coming weeks.
For those of you who skipped the Sun and Moon games, Alolan Pokemon are variations of Pokemon found in other regions that have evolved differently to their Kanto counterparts to be better suited to the balmy island life of the Alolan region.
Two years on from the initial release of Pokemon Go content is still being added, though players are still waiting for the update that brings Pokemon from the fourth generation in the series.
