A Nintendo Direct is just around the corner and will be coming in February 2024, according to a popular industry insider.
It’s about time, as the last mainline Nintendo Direct to grace our screens was back in September, with a focus on Winter games.
Now that the holiday season is behind us, fans are eagerly looking ahead to see what Nintendo has in store for this year and beyond. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
Will There Be a Nintendo Direct in February 2024?
Yes, there will likely be a Nintendo Direct in February 2024. As Jeff Grubb points out, there has almost always been a Direct in February and it’s “almost certainly” going to happen again.
This has yet to be confirmed by Nintendo and is, at present, just speculation. But with Grubb’s previous track record and Nintendo’s tendency to release Directs at the start of the year, it’s a pretty safe bet that we’ll see one drop in February.
Here are the comments Jeff Grubb made about the possible February 2024 Nintendo Direct during the latest edition of the Giant Bomb podcast:
In the video, Grubb is very sure that a Nintendo Direct is coming in February:
“You can always count on a Nintendo Direct in February. It is almost certainly going to happen in February, again.”
Jeff Grubb has had a pretty decent track record when it comes to general Nintendo rumors and accurately predicting Nintendo Direct releases in the past.
It’s important to note that Grubb isn’t claiming any inside knowledge and is simply acknowledging how there is almost always a Direct in February.
We recommend taking this with a grain of salt until Nintendo provides an official announcement.
Based on Nintendo’s previous Directs in February, it will most likely release in early-to-mid-February, 2024.
Although there is currently no confirmation from Nintendo about an upcoming Direct, one will most likely appear during this time in February when you look at their previous Nintendo Direct releases at this time of year.

What will we see in February? That’s the million-dollar question. Many fans are hopeful that Metroid Prime 4 will make an appearance, as it’s been a long time coming.
Others are hoping to see a Switch 2 reveal, but this isn’t likely to happen so soon. We’ll probably get a final push for the last major releases for the Switch before the likely announcement of its successor later this year.
Whatever happens, one thing’s for sure – it’s an exciting time to be a Nintendo fan!
