Nintendo Direct February 2023 Predictions, Date & Time, How to Watch

Here’s everything you need to know about the February 2023 Nintendo Direct, including Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom news and where to watch!

There’s a brand-new Nintendo Direct dropping today, February 8, and there’s already a lot of hype surrounding the upcoming stream.

But what are we going to see and where can we watch? We’ve got all the details for you below:

What to Expect in Nintendo Direct – February 8

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The biggest and most likely-to-appear title in the Feb 8 Nintendo Direct is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Today we’ll likely get a new trailer and possibly also the reveal of new game mechanics. We’re also likely to get the announcement of this leaked Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch OLED!

This game is said to be one of the last AAA releases on the Nintendo Switch, and it’s a long-awaited follow-up to Breath of the Wild. Link and Zelda are back with a new quest and it looks as though Nintendo’s popular franchise is getting darker than ever before.

However, the bad news is that it looks like a Nintendo Switch game price hike is coming alongside TOTK pre-orders going live later today.

Metroid Prime 4

It has been 6 years since the announcement of Metroid 4 and Nintendo has been silent on the game ever since.

Fans of the popular Metroid Prime series, which follows Bounty Hunter Samus Aran, have been waiting on a fourth mainline title since 2007. And with the recent success of titles such as Metroid Dread and Metroid: Samus Returns, we’re excited to see what Prime 4 has to offer.

Metroid Prime 4

Earlier today, a listing for Metroid Prime 4 briefly appeared on both Best Buy and Amazon before being removed.

And with this coming only hours before the Nintendo Direct presentation, it’s likely that we’ll finally be hearing more about the new game soon.

Splatoon 3 Story DLC

Another major project we’re still waiting to hear more about is Splatoon 3’s story DLC. Before the launch of Nintendo’s ink-based shooter, the company revealed that paid DLC would be coming to the game – similar to the Octo Expansion for Splatoon 2.

This additional content will feature new single-player content, but it’s also likely that elements of the DLC will bleed into multiplayer too.

After all, DLC owners could play as Octolings in Splatoon 2 as a reward for completing the Octo Expansion story.

Splatoon 3

Whether DLC is announced or not, we expect to see Splatoon 3 feature in the Nintendo Direct in some regard.

Pikmin 4

In September 2022, we finally got the confirmation we were waiting for: Pikmin 4 is indeed happening.

The game’s first teaser trailer reveals that the upcoming game will release in 2023, meaning that it’s a likely candidate for the February Direct.

Recently, Greek retailer Game Explorers listed Pikmin 4 with a release date of May 26, 2023. If this is true, it’d almost certainly feature in the Direct, which is said to focus on releases from the first half of 2023.

However, the leaked date puts Pikmin only days away from Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s May 12 release date, something that seems relatively implausible.

Advance Wars

Advance Wars 1 + 2 Re-Boot Camp was a highly anticipated remake of two beloved games in the tactical franchise, set to release in April 2022. However, the ongoing military action in Ukraine had Nintendo rethink its plans to release the war-themed title, and the release date was pushed back indefinitely.

Recently, new promotional material for Advance Wars was said to be arriving in Walmart stores, claiming that the game is ‘Available Now’.

A post on Reddit’s /r/gamingleaksandrumors claimed that the display was set to go up on February 10, indicating an imminent release date.

Since then, Walmart has openly mocked the rumor, and no image of this promotional material has surfaced.

But it’s possible that now, almost a year on from its delay, Nintendo will finally reveal the game’s release date in the Feb 8 Direct.

Will Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC Be Announced in February Nintendo Direct?

One thing we DON’T think we’ll see in today’s Nintendo Direct is the eagerly-anticipated DLC expansion for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

The reason for this is that Pokemon Day is just around the corner, an event that would be the perfect time to reveal the rumored upcoming expansion.

What’s more, while Pokemon titles are sometimes part of Nintendo Directs, major reveals tend to come in exclusive Pokemon Presents broadcasts.
