Black Ops Cold War is getting two new Zombies modes, alongside its upcoming Season 1 update. Here’s what’s to come:
Black Ops Cold War Season 1 is almost here, and Treyarch promises the biggest free content drop the series has ever received. Despite this fact, it looks like there’s no new Cold War Zombies map incoming with the new update.
Despite leaks suggesting that a Black Ops Cold War Vietnam Zombies map was set to drop, this content is likely being held back for Season 2. However, Zombies fans aren’t being left out completely in the new update.
When Black Ops Cold War Season 1 releases, the game’s Zombies mode is getting two unique new game modes. And thankfully, both sound more entertaining than the PlayStation exclusive Zombies Onslaught.
Black Ops Cold War Season 1 – New Zombies Modes
We already know that Black Ops Cold War is bringing new weapons to the game. And what better way to test out your new Sledgehammer than to take it Zombie-slaying?
Black Ops Cold War Season 1 brings new game modes to Treyarch’s classic Zombies mode. And just like the Nuketown ’84 Christmas leak suggests, the update has a very festive theme.
In the new Jingle Hells Zombies Limited-Time Mode, Die Maschine is turning into a winter wonderland. The undead-infested world is getting a makeover for the holiday, complete with snowmen and reindeer zombie Plaguehounds.
But it’s not just the map that’s changing either. Players can reportedly expect “a variety of festive firepower” to use against the undead army.
This includes snowballs that can freeze zombies in place and stockings containing power-ups. Some zombies will also drop presents when dying, and the snowmen around the map also have secrets to discover.
The second new Zombies mode is less festive, coming later in Season 1. In Cranked, players must survive against the clock every bit as much as they do against the undead.
With a countdown timer ticking away, Zombies players need to make sure they’re killing undead at a regular pace. Take too long to drop a zombie, and you’ll explode.
Occasionally, players will come across a Cranked power-up, allowing them a small breather. We imagine this game mode will take some careful zombie management.
Black Ops Cold War’s Season 1 update is shaping up to be a real game-changer. There are even two new Gulags coming to Warzone.
After a shaky start, it appears that Cold War is beginning to get back on track. Changes to Cold War’s SBMM might be coming soon too, if new reports can be believed.
But the game also has just as many bugs as ever, and some players are even getting locked out of Black Ops Cold War altogether. Hopefully, a few new fixes are coming with the Season 1 content drop.
