We have gotten our first glimpse at the latest electric-type Pokemon coming to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet – Bellibolt.

In the latest trailer for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, one of the eight Gym leaders you’ll face, Iono, revealed her partner Pokemon.

Fortunately, for fans, it is one we’ve never seen before further building upon the already huge list of confirmed Gen 9 Pokemon appearing in Scarlet & Violet.

What Is Bellibolt in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?

Bellibolt is a brand-new Generation 9 Pokemon coming to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet and is an electric-type. They are the partner Pokemon of the streamer and influencer electric-type Gym Leader, Iono

This frog-like electric Pokemon debuted in the “Meet Bellibolt” trailer which you can watch below. It is enormous, squishy, and can generate electricity in its belly by expanding its body.

Most notably, this surprisingly fast Pokemon has odd bumps on the sides of its head that look like eyes. In fact, keen-eyed fans will have noticed its eyes are actually in the center of its face.

What Are Bellibolt’s Abilities?

Bellibolt has a completely new ability that Pokemon fans have never experienced before called Electromorphosis.

Electromorphosis

When Bellibolt can use Electromorphosis by being hit. He becomes charged when attacked which boosts the power of the next Electric-type move it uses.

Essentially, what doesn’t kill it makes it a lot stronger, and it allows players who are dealt a lot of damage to repay the favor.
