A new Mario game is always a winner, and a leak suggests that the Nintendo Switch is getting one soon.
It's been a while since the last Mario title released, which means only one thing - it's time for another one. With the most recent Mario game to hit the market being a collection of older ports, fans are excited at the prospect of an entirely new experience in the Mario universe.
According to a prominent leaker in the Nintendo community, fans won't have to wait long for a new Mario title. In fact, the game is reportedly going to release in the first half of 2021.
New Mario Game Leaked for Nintendo Switch
Nintendo leaker Zippo is perhaps best known for their leaks surrounding Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In the past, Nintendo has even targeted the user when attempting to prevent insider information from being shared online.
Now, Zippo is claiming that there's a new Mario game in the works, with Camelot responsible for development. Long-time fans will recognize the major developer as having worked on Mario titles in the past.
Known for their sporting title, Camelot's main franchises include the Mario Tennis and Mario Golf series.
The leaker claims not to know exactly what game is in development, but they state that a new Golf title is a safe assumption. Seeing as the Switch already has Mario Tennis Aces, we can see this being a solid prediction.
Personally, we'd hope that Nintendo revisits some of their older classics like Super Mario Strikers or Mario Hoops. These iconic games were fan-favorites to many players, and they're more exciting than Mario Golf.
Zippo concludes his leak by telling Golden Sun fans that "the Sun will rise again... eventually."
Some fans interpret this as a leak for an upcoming Golden Sun title, which Camelot also develops. If true, this would be the first Golden Sun game in a decade, something that is an exciting prospect in itself.
For now, though, the leak focuses more on the new Mario game, which is sure to make greater sales than any Golden Sun title. After all, when Mario's name appears on a game, it almost guarantees success.
Recently, a huge Nintendo leak teased a Switch Pro, as well as Pokemon Remakes and Breath of the Wild 2. If these all turn out to be true, this is an incredibly exciting time to be a Nintendo fan.
In fact, if Breath of the Wild 2 is a Switch Pro launch title, Nintendo should have no issue keeping up with Sony and Microsoft. And with rumors suggesting that the Nintendo Switch Pro will have portable 4K gaming, games should be looking cleaner than ever.
