Fan-favorite Call of Duty character Frank Woods has apparently become a rogue agent, according to the latest Black Ops 6 official comms.

Frank Woods is arguably the most iconic character in all of the Call of Duty: Black Ops games. Having featured prominently in the campaigns of the first two Black Ops games and then returning in Cold War, Woods has plenty of fans.

Fortunately, it looks like Woods will also be playing a major part in the story of Black Ops 6.

At the very least, he has been appearing in the teasers for this year’s Call of Duty title.

His initial appearance in a new Warzone intro was a surprise for many, not only because Woods is now in a wheelchair (confirming the events of Black Ops 2 as canon) but also because of the questions it brought up.

However, the Call of Duty Blog has now given us some more insight into what Woods is up to ahead of Black Ops 6.

Frank Woods Has Gone Rogue

The Call of Duty Blog has been releasing small updates and teasers in the lead-up to the Black Ops 6 Direct presentation on June 9. The latest addition to this blog pertains to Frank Woods and his new Warzone intro.

The new entry in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Official comms says:

“It appears a rogue Black Ops agent has accessed Operator Infil Comms, and has been identified as Frank Woods. Classified CIA evidence is currently out in the wild, and Operators are encouraged to locate this information immediately.”

This snippet of information actually pertains to the brand-new Black Ops 6 challenges in Warzone. These challenges reveal that former hero Russell Adler is now wanted by the CIA for supposedly being a mole.

While initially it was unclear as to why Woods was trying to track down Adler, the new information that he is a rogue agent suggests this is of his own volition.

If Woods is trying to track down Adler himself, maybe he is trying to help Adler after all!
