If you couldn’t handle The Tomb’s Easter Egg boss fight before, you’ll be happy to hear that it’s getting a nerf in the Black Ops 6 Zombies’ Season 2 Reloaded update!
The Season 2 Reloaded patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is rolling out today, and it’s making the latest Easter Egg Main Quest significantly easier.
The Tomb’s final boss encounter has been giving players trouble since it arrived alongside the Season 2 update in late January.
While the most recent Zombies map isn’t too tricky to complete, its boss fight has been criticized for being too hard in a number of ways. Now, Treyarch is making some changes that should appease the more vocal fans.
The Tomb Boss Changes in Season 2 Rloaded
In the Black Ops 6 Season 2 Reloaded patch notes, Treyarch reveals that it’s making changes to help players complete The Tomb’s challenging boss encounter.
When the patch goes live at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET today, The Tomb’s Easter Egg boss will receive two small, yet significant nerfs:
- Boss laser attacks will stun players for a slightly shorter duration.
- Zombies will spawn at a slightly lower quantity in parties of 3-4 players.
These changes are more significant than they look at first glance, in particular the first nerf as just getting stunned once could be enough to end your run outright.
And while The Tomb’s mobs can be tricky to deal with solo, there are far, far more of them that spawn when playing as part of a full squad.
Now, one player using the Ice Staff’s charged attack should be enough to deal with most of the incoming horde, allowing other players to focus on dishing out damage to the boss itself.
Don’t Expect an Easy Boss Fight
But even these changes won’t be enough to make the boss encounter a cakewalk. Players will still have to contend with the powerful artifact-wielding elite zombies that can down you in a single hit, for example.
Thankfully, Treyarch has also made some changes to the Shock Mimic and Amalgam, which fix a major issue players have been having with the elite enemies!
On top of that, players still have to ensure they’re sufficiently prepared before taking on the boss fight. Fail to bring in a Tier 3 Pack-a-Punched bullet-based weapon and you’ll be unable to damage the boss while it’s weakened – leading to an instant failure.
We also highly recommend taking in the upgraded Staff of Ice Wonder Weapon as well as the Gold Armor you get from the map’s most challenging side quest.
