The Black Ops 6 Mystery Box could use one key change in the latest Call of Duty Zombies mode, and it revolves around its distribution of Wonder Weapons.
The Mystery Box is one of the most iconic features of the COD Zombies franchise. The premise is simple: spend a small amount of Essence at the box and you’ll receive a random weapon from the map’s gun pool.
The higher the round you activate the Mystery Box on, the higher your chances of getting a powerful drop – such as the map’s Wonder Weapon.
However, fans aren’t fully happy with how the Mystery Box has been implemented in Black Ops 6 Zombies, and some are calling for it to be changed.

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, the Mystery Box is seen as being a little underwhelming, likely because players can already bring any weapon they choose into the undead survival mode via their loadout.
The box still has its place, but generally it appears that fans have moved past the days of needing to rely on random chance to get a powerful weapon.
“The Mystery Box has been practically the poster child for the Zombies Mode,” Reddit user TheReiterEffect S_8 writes. “Zombies wouldn’t be Zombies without the Pack-a-Punch or Mystery Box. And yet I feel like there is no purpose of the Mystery Box anymore.”
One thing that the box is still used for is obtaining Wonder Weapons without having to complete laborious side quests. For instance, instead of crafting the Staff of Ice on The Tomb, it’s far easier to roll the Mystery Box for a chance at obtaining the powerful weapon.

But even when you’ve got a guaranteed chance at obtaining a Wonder Weapon, fans are still finding issues with the box.
Using the Wonderbar! GobbleGum will ensure that the next Mystery Box roll is a Wonder Weapon, which is a great way to upgrade your loadout. However, fans who spend their high-tier GobbleGums find themselves frustrated that the box will give out Ray Guns in place of the map’s unique weapon.
And what’s even more frustrating is many users seem to believe that the odds of acquiring a random Wonder Weapon are stacked in the Ray Gun’s favor.
Fans report an overwhelming number of Ray Gun pulls, even when using the Ultra-tier GobbleGum to help get their hands on a Wonder Weapon.
The box will even drop a Ray Gun when you already have one, instead of defaulting to a Wonder Weapon that you don’t have equipped.
Since you can buy Pay-to-Win GobbleGums in the COD Store, some users suggest that this is an intentional move by Activision. After all, if you’re not getting the Wonder Weapon you desire, you may be inclined to spend money to obtain more opportunities.
It’s worth noting that all Main Quest Easter Eggs in Black Ops 6 require players to first acquire a map’s Wonder Weapon.
Perhaps, if there is any truth to this Mystery Box bias, the developers just don’t want players to skip key steps in their quests.
