MW3 Season 1 Reloaded is the mid-season update for Activision’s shooter, bringing a ton of new content to the game. Here’s everything we know so far:
If you were wondering where a large chunk of Modern Warfare 3 Season 1’s promised content is, chances are you didn’t notice the words ‘in-season’ on the Call of Duty blog.
For the most part, anything that doesn’t arrive on a new season’s launch day will arrive in Season 1 ‘Reloaded,’ a major update that seeks to keep the game feeling fresh.
Season 1 Reloaded Release Date
The release date for MW3 Season 1 Reloaded has been officially revealed to be Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM GMT.
MW3 Season 1 Reloaded is kicking off in .
Before that arrives, players will be taking part in the new MW3 Vortex event, which brings additional content to the game even before the Reloaded update!
Everything Coming in Season 1 Reloaded
The official roadmap for Season 1 Reloaded has landed, and here is what you can expect:
There are two new guns making their way into both MW3 and Warzone with Season 1 Reloaded:
This SMG is perfect for close-quarters eliminations, boasting a high rate of fire and excellent mobility.
You will be able to unlock it via an Armory Unlock challenge.
Those who love to run and gun will excel with this weapon, but in the right loadout it can also turn into a threat at mid-range.
The first new LMG to arrive in MW3 is the TAQ Evolvere, and it’s one that claims to be ‘versatile and exceptionally lethal.’
This weapon will be available by completing a Weekly challenge.
According to the Season 1 blog, players will be able to tailor this LMG to any playstyle and dispatch both infantry and artillery with ease.
New Multiplayer Map
A brand-new 6v6 is making its way to MW3 in Season 1 Reloaded!
Rio, set in the vibrant and colorful Rio de Janeiro, offers up a new arena for tight, close-quarters combat, as players battle it out across an upscale shopping center.
In the MW3 Season 1 blog, Activision confirmed that several new modes were making their way to the game over the course of the first season. Here’s what’s still to come:
Players must fight to secure the Headquarters and hold it for as long as possible to earn points. Headquarter defenders have the advantage, but the defending team will also have their respawns disabled.
A 6v6 variant of Gunfight, played on standard Multiplayer maps.
In Team Gunfight, all players receive the same random loadout, meaning you need to adapt to your starting equipment better than the enemies to survive.
Wield superpowers inspired by Vought’s iconic superheroes in this LTM inspired by Amazon Prime’s The Boys series.
After superpowers caused chaos in Warzone the last time they were in-game, we’re happy to see them coming to Multiplayer instead – and relegated to just a single Limited-Time Mode.
The classic party mode where one player is infected and must infect the rest of the lobby is coming back.
The goal is for the original infector to eliminate every operator in the lobby. Once eliminated they join the side of the infected.
Finally, Ranked Play is dropping for MW3 Multiplayer, with Warzone Ranked coming at a later date. Players will need to be Level 55 before they gain access to the new competitive playlist.
MW3 Ranked Play is developed by Treyarch, and aims to continue expanding on the mode’s success in Modern Warfare 2 (2022).
With a restricted list of weapons, maps, and modes, players will compete to be the best, and make it to the coveted Top 250.
A new Warlord is coming to the Exclusion Zone!
In MWZ (AKA MW3 Zombies), players will be able to encounter Dokkaebi and her fleet of autonomous drones, which will rain down fire on nearby Operatives from the area around her Zaravan City skyscraper.
And of course, we can likely expect a new reward or two for dispatching this troublesome Warlord encounter.
Return of The Boys
Amazon Prime’s popular series ‘The Boys’ is back in Season 1 Reloaded, bringing back the likes of Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir to the COD Store.
But that’s not all, as they’ll be joined by two new heroes: A-Train, and Firecracker!
Fans of the show will recognize Vought’s iconic speedster but if Firecracker doesn’t sound familiar to you, that’s because she’s making her debut in The Boys Season 4.
And, of course, we can expect a hefty weapons balance patch alongside MW3 Season 1 Reloaded too.
Although Activision hasn’t indicated what we can expect balance-wise, we predict that some of the strongest weapons in the game will see some significant nerfs.
These include the likes of the BAS-B, Holger 556, and MCW, which have been dominating the meta in multiplayer.
Meanwhile, some of the most undertuned guns in the game (we’re looking at you, Sidewinder) will hopefully get a chance to shine after Season 1 Reloaded’s upcoming buffs.
