The MW3 Season 1 Reloaded update is perhaps one of the worst and most disastrous content drops in Call of Duty history, and fans have certainly not shied away from ridiculing that fact.

Traditionally, the mid-season “Reloaded” updates always bring in a whole host of new content to COD games, but MW3’s Season 1 Reloaded has not hit the mark.

This is largely because the update came with a plethora of problems, including game-breaking bugs, UI errors, and stability issues. To name just a few.

Fans have taken to social media to post their outrage, as well as a few jokes while they’re at it!

What’s Wrong With Season 1 Reloaded?

Fans are disappointed with the Season 1 Reloaded update for MW3 as it seems to have introduced a variety of severe bugs to the game.

It also delayed some much-anticipated modes that were meant to come with the update.

MW3 Players Think SBMM “Chokes the Fun” Out of the Game

Bugs & Glitches

Shortly after Season 1 Reloaded dropped on January 17, players experienced perhaps one of the buggiest updates to ever come to a Call of Duty game.

Here’s one user glitching out in a multiplayer match in MW3 after the update:

As you can see, the visual glitches cause them to get killed when attempting to aim down sights. Not fun.

Here’s another player encountering bugs while attempting to ADS in a multiplayer game:

The bugs are also happening elsewhere in the game. This player lists an “insane amount of bugs” that they have come across since the update dropped, calling it “an absolute joke”:

Strangely, the Season 1 Reloaded update brought a variety of UI bugs, visual mistakes, and what looks to be severe stability issues. Femmin0V calls it “a £70 slap in the face”. Ouch.

Ranked Play Delay

If all that isn’t bad enough, the much-anticipated Ranked Play mode that uses the same ruleset from Call of Duty League (CDL) initially received a delay due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

Because of a “critical issue”, Ranked Play received a delay after the update went live. Thankfully, Sledgehammer Games seemed to resolve all issues and Ranked Play is now live in MW3:

Even though Ranked Play is now live, it hasn’t stopped the community from poking fun at the developers:

Fans Mock Season 1 Reloaded Update

Many fans have posted hilarious memes and jokes as a way to make light of the incredibly disappointing Season 1 Reloaded launch for MW3.

Here’s an honest-to-goodness meme post showing what the MW3’s Trello Board must look like after January 17’s content drop:

The Trello Board is a bugs and fixes progression tracker that developers use for Modern Warfare 3. Needless to say, the Trello Board got more than a little crowded after January 17.

If you head over to the official COD Updated Twitter/X page, you’ll see dozens of posts announcing all the bugs and issues, in the last 24 hours alone:

COD Updates Twitter:X page showing bugs and issues for Season 1 Reloaded launch for MW3 2

The clear lack of foresight and testing has led this Reddit user to suggest a reason why Activision gave the green light for the update:

Jokes aside, the terrible Season 1 Reloaded launch has led some fans to seriously question the developer’s commitment to the game.

Others are quick to point out that amidst all of these major issues, the bundles in the store are still “working perfectly”. The irony of the System Error store bundle in MW3 was certainly not lost on this fan:

It’s clearly one of the worst updates in Call of Duty history. Thankfully, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software have already fixed a myriad of issues that plagued the game since the Season 1 Reloaded update dropped.

However, it begs the question of why Sledgehammer Games decided to release it in that state in the first place!
