MW2 Mosh Pit is back in MW3 this week, and it already has players calling for the mode to remain as a permanent playlist.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 may have been a best-selling game, but it was far from perfect. In fact, one of the main complaints we saw with the previous COD title was that fans weren’t happy with its map roster.
So imagine our confusion when we see fans calling for MW2 Mosh Pit, a mode that takes place entirely on those same maps, to remain permanently in the game.
Fans Want Permanent MW2 Mosh Pit
It seems that fans of MW3 want the Modern Warfare 2 Mosh Pit playlist to stick around forever, as a permanent playlist.
For many users, the movement and mechanics of MW3 play so well in the older maps that it seems a waste for them not to stick around. And for those that didn’t play last year’s entry, MW2 has a lot of extra content to offer that wouldn’t take any development time to add!
Some fans are calling for all MW2 maps to immediately join the game’s roster:
“All MWII maps should have been in permanently from the beginning, there’s zero reason not to,” Reddit user Leather-Mobile-8370 writes. “You’re just driving more people away with these horrendous decisions.”
However, whenever this opinion is voiced, more than a few users disagree with this opinion, pointing out that unpopular maps such as Santa Seña Border Crossing, Black Gold, or Embassy would be added to the playlist.
As it stands, MW2 Mosh Pit consists of just a handful of maps:
- Farm 18
- Crown Raceway
- Shoot House
- Mercado Las Almas
- Breenbergh Hotel
The final map on the list was added to the playlist this time around, which means that Activision is looking to expand the roster – but only gradually.
When Does MW2 Mosh Pit Leave?
MW2 Mosh Pit is likely to leave MW3 on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT alongside the next playlist update.
This is currently unconfirmed by Activision but the mode is part of this week’s playlist rotation, meaning it’s not likely to stick around.
This means that players have to enjoy playing MW2 maps in Modern Warfare 3.
Of course, all the MW2 2022 arenas are still playable in the original game’s multiplayer. But many users will find it hard to go back to last year’s title after experiencing MW3 movement and mechanics.
