The Call of Duty MW3 Beta is finally going live and here are all the maps and modes fans can expect to play throughout the weekend.
Modern Warfare 3 takes us back to 2009, offering 16 full remasters of classic MW2 maps when it launches on November 10, 2023.
But, as players get their hands on the game a few weeks early, what maps and modes are coming to the MW3 Beta?
All Maps in the MW3 Beta
Here’s a list of all the maps that are available in the Call of Duty MW3 Beta:
Favela
Set in the slums of Rio de Janeiro, Favela is a fan-favorite map that specializes in close-quarters combat. The map features plenty of vertical space, allowing snipers to get the drop on passing enemies.

Estate
The location of the ‘Loose Ends’ mission, in which MW2 2009 players witnessed Ghost and Roach get betrayed by General Shepherd.
Estate features a large house atop a hill, offering an overview of the map below it. Outside, long-range combat is the motive, but players often gravitate towards the house for some close-quarters action.

Skidrow
An urban city perfect for both long and short-range engagements.
Skidrow features a large central apartment building as its main focus, while also offering a way to move around outside, to flank enemies, and offer new sightlines.

Rust
Release Date: October 8
A true Call of Duty classic. Rust is set in an oil yard in the middle of the desert, and it is one of the franchise’s smallest maps.
Though it’s larger than Shipment, much of its size comes from a large tower in the center of the map. Climb up to get the drop on enemies below, while also making yourself a huge target.

Highrise
Release Date: October 12, 2023.
Set atop a nearly constructed skyscraper, Highrise features two office buildings on opposite sides of the map. In between, a rooftop containing a helipad and chopper is located, alongside multiple cranes and construction materials.

Popov Power
A large-scale map coming to MW3, Popov Power was our first Ground War arena to arrive in the Beta.
This looks to be taken directly from the MW3 Warzone map, giving us a new look at what’s to come.

Orlov Military Base
Also taken from the new Warzone map dropping with MW3 is Orlov Military Base. This map offers opportunities for both long-range combat and CQC.
Interestingly, just outside the map’s borders, a recreation of the original Modern Warfare’s Countdown map is visible.

All Multiplayer Modes in the MW3 Beta
Next, here are all the modes that players will be able to jump into, in the MW3 Beta:
Team Deathmatch
- Team Size: 6
- Maximum Players: 12
- Match Time: 10 Minutes
- Score Limit: 75
Classic 6v6 Multiplayer at its finest, MW3 brings back Team Deathmatch for its Beta. In TDM, each kill is worth 1 point.
The first team to reach the score of 75 (or the highest-scoring team when the timer runs out) is declared the winner.
Kill Confirmed
- Team Size: 6
- Maximum Players: 12
- Match Time: 10 Minutes
- Score Limit: 75
Kill Confirmed is very similar to Team Deathmatch, featuring two teams that seek to eliminate opposing players. However, in this mode, to score a point you must collect the enemy’s dog tags from their corpse.
You can also recover friendly dog tags in order to deny enemy point-scorers, and earn XP.
Domination
- Team Size: 6
- Maximum Players: 12
- Match Time: Unlimited
- Score Limit: 200
In Domination, teams of 6 will compete to capture and hold three objectives to earn points. With no time limit restricting play, the first team to reach 200 points wins.
Search and Destroy
- Team Size: 6
- Maximum Players: 12
- Round Time: 2 Minutes
- Score Limit: First to 6 Rounds
A more tactical game mode with no respawns, teams take it in turns attempting to plant bombs or defend key areas.
If you get eliminated there’s no coming back, in this popular COD classic mode.
Cutthroat
- Team Size 3
- Maximum Players: 9
- Score Limit: First to 3 Rounds
Cutthroat is a 3v3v3 single-life mode in MW3, which pits three teams against one another. The goal is to eliminate every player on the two opposing teams or capture the overtime flag to secure the win.
Those who enjoy Gunfight may find what they’re looking for here.
Hardpoint
- Team Size: 6
- Maximum Players: 12
- Score Limit: 250
Hardpoint is very similar to Domination but there’s just one point to gain control of. Teams who remain in the capture zone will slowly accrue points, though this will pause while enemies are in the area.
A fast-paced game mode where close-quarters combat is often key.
Ground War
- Team Size: 32
- Maximum Players: 64
- Time Limit: 15 Minutes
- Score Limit: 250
Ground War is a huge-scale game mode featuring two teams of 32 players across sprawling maps. This mode allows MW3 fans to experience all-out warfare at its finest.
In Ground War, MW3 Beta players have two maps to experience: Popov Power, and Orlov Military Base. Both maps give us an early look at the upcoming MW3 Warzone experience.
