Your early patch notes are here for the MW2 & Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded update launching on March 15 – here’s what’s new in the mid-season update:
MW2 Season 2 Reloaded Patch Notes
New Weapons
Tempus Torrent
A brand-new Marksman Rifle, the Tempus Torrent, will be available to unlock in Season 2 Reloaded. This weapon is on the M4 platform, with many attachments unlocked following that platform progression.
This weapon can be unlocked by completing the Weapon Challenge – Get 25 Double Kills with Marksman Rifles. However, players can also unlock it via a future store bundle.

Shuriken
While the Shuriken was meant to release in Season 2 reloaded, this throwable item has now been delayed until after Season 2.
The Shuriken is actually already present on Ashika Island, where it performs very much like the Throwing Knife.

Here’s how to unlock all of Season 2’s new weapons in-game!
New Multiplayer Map
A brand-new 6v6 Multiplayer map is coming to Season 2 Reloaded titled “Himmelmatt Expo.” This map is an exclusive winter getaway resort located in the European mountains.
This map will be the first entirely new 6v6 arena to arrive in MW2 since release day.

Reportedly, the map was initially scheduled for later in the game’s lifespan but was brought forward thanks to development being ahead of schedule.
The mountain resort spa map will be a much-appreciated breath of fresh air for Multiplayer fans everywhere.

Raid Episode 2
The second episode of Raids will be dropping with Season 2 Reloaded. Players will continue the story from Atomgrad following Captain Price, Farah, and Gaz.
The trio find themselves inside the base of a ballistic missile and must navigate the facility while encountering enemy resistance.
For completing Raid episode 2, players will earn the “Bad Boonie” Operator Skin for Captain Price.
Path of the Ronin Camo Challenges
A brand new camo is arriving for weapons in Season 2 Reloaded named “Winds of Ash.” This camo is available for all weapons and can be earned by completing challenges for the class.
- Assault Rifles: Get 125 headshots (eliminations)
- Battle Rifles: Get 75 headshots
- Submachine Guns: Get 100 headshots
- Light Machine Guns: Get 75 headshots
- Shotguns: Get 50 headshots
- Marksman Rifles: Get 50 headshots
- Sniper Rifles: Get 50 headshots
- Handguns: Get 30 headshots
- Melee: Get 30 kills from behind
- Launcher: Get 40 kills
By completing all ten challenges, you will also unlock another camo, “Bowing Blossoms,” and a golden charm.

New Modes
All or Nothing
In All or Nothing, players will spawn with only Throwing Knives and a Pistol with no ammo. Every player will get additional Perks such as Scavenger, allowing them to receive bullets for eliminating enemies.
The first player to rack up 20 eliminations is crowned the winner.
Drop Zone
In Drop Zone, players must capture objective zones and hold them, similar to Hardpoint. However, every 15 seconds, a new Care Package is dropped into occupied zones, meaning that the mode very quickly devolves into chaos.
This classic Multiplayer mode was first seen in Modern Warfare 3 and most recently appeared in Vanguard.

One in the Chamber
In this iconic free-for-all mode, every Operator gets a handgun with only a single bullet to work with. Every kill they attain grants them another bullet, but miss and you’ll need to rely on melee attacks.
With just three respawns available for each player, the last man standing is the winner.
Warzone Third Anniversary Event
Although Path of the Ronin will be ending, an event celebrating Warzone’s third anniversary is coming in Season 2 Reloaded.
There will be seven free items, including blueprints, calling cards, and more, for players to claim through the COD store.
These items will be themed around the maps, seasons, and memories made since Warzone’s launch back in March 2020.

Weapon Balancing
Season 2 Reloaded is confirmed to bring a range of weapon buffs and nerfs to overhaul the meta.
Right now, many fans are calling for a heavy nerf to the KV Broadside shotgun, which is dominating both MW2 Multiplayer and Warzone.
Thankfully, Infinity Ward and Raven Software have already confirmed that the KV Broadside will be receiving both a damage reduction and a nerf to Dragon’s Breath Rounds.

New Party Queuing Social Feature
A new social feature, Party Queuing, will let players automatically join their friend’s lobbies once their active game has finished.
While queuing, you will be able to use voice and text chat to communicate with the player in the lobby you are waiting to join.
New Call of Duty Bundles Including Shredder From TMNT
In Season 2 Reloaded, players can expect a ton of new bundles coming to the COD store, including Shredder from TMNT.
Also on the way are themed bundles for St. Patrick’s day, a tracer bundle for the Ghost operator, a bundle for Farah, and much more.

New Audio Updates
In an attempt to improve audio in both MW2 & Warzone 2, new updates to sound are coming in Season 02 Reloaded.
First and foremost, enemy footstep volume is getting some changes, in order to help more accurately portray a user’s position.
Footsteps on sand will now be more audible too, allowing players to identify the surface that the approaching player is walking on.
Finally, PC players will now be able to select stereo or surround outputs, providing new options to help improve the overall experience.
Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded Patch Notes
Resurgence Solos, Duos, Trios, Quads
After numerous complaints about how Activision is treating Resurgence fans, the official Call of Duty Twitter account had an important announcement to make:
Resurgence Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads will be included in every weekly playlist from Season 2 Reloaded to Season 3.
No matter your squad size, you’ll be able to enjoy Ashika Island’s Resurgence mode for the remainder of Season 2.
Bomb Drone Removal
The Bomb Drone is being disabled alongside the Season 02 Reloaded update, with Raven Software citing game balance as the reason.
The developer claims to be exploring additional balance options for the powerful killstreak, but we don’t expect it to return anytime soon.
After all, the Heavy Chopper was taken out of Warzone 2 on December 16, 2022 for a similar reason and is yet to resurface.

Birdseye, the broken perk that was giving players a free UAV, went missing on January 30, 2023 and is also yet to return.
DMZ Changes
So far, no changes have been announced for Warzone 2’s extraction shooter mode DMZ. However, players do not need to worry about their contraband or missions resetting this time around.
In fact, we’ve compiled all the DMZ Faction Missions for Season 2 and beyond here. Don’t miss out on earning your free rewards!
It’s likely that DMZ will see further changes in Season 2 Reloaded, and we’ll update this article when more are announced.
And don’t forget that Ranked and Plunder modes are coming to Warzone 2 soon too! However, neither will arrive in Season 2 Reloaded.
