MW2 and Warzone 2 implemented a new Battle Pass system for Season 1 that uses Battle Token Tier Skips and Combat Records to unlock rewards and new Operators.

It’ll allow players to take more control over what they unlock first. But to make the most of it, you’ll need to understand exactly how the system works and what Battle Token Tier Skips are.

How Does the Battle Pass Work in MW2 & Warzone 2?

The Battle Pass in MW2 and Warzone 2 uses a combat map made up of 21 different sectors that contain 5 different rewards that are obtained with Battle Token Tier Skips.

Instead of leveling up to the next tier, players will earn Battle Token Tier Skips, which they can use to chart their own course and prioritize specific rewards.

A Combat Sector is a collection of five rewards. One of these rewards is a High-Value Target (HVT), and to unlock it, you’ll need to unlock the four other rewards first.

To progress to different Combat Sectors, you need to unlock the HVT and then choose one of the adjacent sectors to progress to.

Here is every unlock you’ll find in the MW2 & Warzone 2 Season 1 Battle Pass!

  • Green – This is an unlocked sector, but you have yet to acquire the HVT.
  • Gold/Filled In – This is a sector for which you have already completed and obtained the HVT. You can access any sector adjacent to it.

The Battle Token Bank stores all the Battle Tokens that players have collected through the MW2 and Warzone 2 Battle Pass.

These Tokens are used to unlock specific items in the different Combat Sectors presented with each Battle Pass.

Does the Battle Token Bank Transfer to Future Seasons?

No, any Battle Tokens earned during a season of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 do not transfer to the next season.

This means that any Battle Tokens in your Token Bank will expire at the end of the season.

It’s always best to use your Battle Tokens as you go so you can use the items you are unlocking as soon as possible.

Some tokens can even be used to unlock COD Points which you can then use to buy the next Battle Pass. Players have reported issues with their tokens not appearing in the Battle Token Bank at times.

Thankfully, there is a fix that players can use to prevent this from happening!
