The reason Xbox’s file size is much larger is because of the way they install updates. However, there is a way to lower this file size on Xbox if you only play multiplayer:

  • Go to All Games
  • Press the Start button on the MW2 icon
  • Select Manage Games & Addons
  • Unselect Campaign and Warzone 2.0
  • Press save changes

This will uninstall the Campaign and Warzone 2.0 portion of your application. This means you will not be able to play them without re-downloading them. But this way, your update size should drop drastically.
