MW2 Season 1 Maps Leak Includes Shipment, Shoothouse & More

It seems like plenty of maps could be releasing in MW2 Season 1, according to a recent leak.

Modern Warfare 2’s first season is around the corner, and we’re still waiting on more information about it.

So far, Activision has revealed very little about what’s to come in the game’s premiere season, but we do know about some exciting new content.

Here’s everything we know is coming to MW2 Season 1 so far!

And now, some recent leaks seem to suggest what maps we could expect to see coming alongside the first major MW2 update.

All Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 Maps Leak

According to dataminer GhostOfSaba, the following maps could be coming to MW2 Season 1:

  • Shipment
  • Shoothouse
  • Drainage
  • Regional
  • Observe
  • Sunken
  • Oilfield

Each of the above maps has been datamined from the MW2 files, some of which even have images accompanying them. However, we almost certainly won’t be getting too many new maps right out of the gate.

The rest of the content will likely be distributed in Season 1 Reloaded, and in subsequent seasons, if it arrives at all.

Shipment

Shipment has seen various versions since its initial release in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. This map is fairly small, with various spawn points that are all close together, meaning it can get chaotic pretty quickly.

If this map is a favorite of yours, we recommend taking a close-range weapon once again.

Shoothouse

Making its debut in Modern Warfare (2019), Shoothouse quickly became a fan-favorite thanks to its tight areas and almost three-lane approach. Modes like Domination and Hardpoint are especially hectic on this map.

While it’s a younger map than many others, Shoothouse is great if you want plenty of kills and prefer faster matches.

Drainage

Drainage was originally a Gunfight-exclusive map that debuted in MW 2019. It’s possible that it could be remade slightly for a standard 6v6 map.

Either that or Gunfight could join Modern Warfare 2 list of game modes very soon!

Valderas Museum

The Museum map was noticeably absent from Modern Warfare 2 at launch, despite being featured during the Beta. However, recent leaks seem to suggest that it will make its return during the first season.

The rest of the maps appear to be brand-new arenas, with not much for us to go on other than their names. However Sunken and Oilfield already have map selection images which can be seen in the tweet below.

Here’s the release date for Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 where we’ll finally get to see which new maps make the cut.

Of course, we recommend taking leaks with a pinch of salt. Not only could leaks be fake, but Infinity Ward could make changes to the files, meaning they won’t be correct in the next update.

That being said, these leaks appear to be from data mining. That means that there’s likely some truth to them.
