Infinity Ward, the studio behind the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare, might be adding a rematch option to Gunfight soon if a recent comment is anything to go by.
Gunfight is now available in 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3. Since launch, Infinity Ward has prioritized the mode with new changes and tweaks every so often. But now it appears as though another addition to the popular mode is on the horizon.
Modern Warfare Gunfight Rematch Feature
In a recent Reddit post, one user has proposed a new rematch feature in Gunfight. The option would allow players to settle the score between their opponents. Fortunately, Infinity Ward’s Joel Emslie, the studio’s art director, has taken the idea into consideration.
Emslie replied to the post mentioning “I think this is awesome. I’ll go get vocal,” suggesting the developers are at least looking into implementing the feature. This doesn’t neccasirly confirm its arrival, but it certainly looks promising.
There’s no doubt that fans will be pleased with the idea. Such a thing can allow players to avenge their losses. Not only this but it also saves time if you wish to play the same team over and over again. At the moment, you need to search for a match at the same time as the opponent you wish to play, which can be a lengthy process.
If you do not wish to rematch your opponent, you can simply select “continue” which will take you to another match against a different team.
A rematch option has predominantly been present in other first-person shooters, although generally not Call of Duty. Perhaps now is the time to implement such a thing.
There’s no indication as to when this feature might launch. But in the meantime, players can get their hands on the new Crossbow weapon when it arrives on January 22nd.
