A Modern Warfare weapon has been found in the Call of Duty Vanguard Beta already, and fans are quick to complain.
Right now, the Vanguard Open Beta is in full swing. With a recent extension to Wednesday, there’s even more time to enjoy the game’s free trial!
Unless, that is, you’re an Xbox or PC user. It seems that the Vanguard Beta is having huge issues on Xbox and PC right now, which doesn’t give us hope for the final release.
On top of that, the Vanguard Beta has some major problems on all platforms, thanks to decisions by Sledgehammer Games.
And it seems that hackers and cheaters are already flooding into the Vanguard Beta, to make matters even worse!
Vanguard Finishing Move Uses Modern Warfare M19 Pistol
It seems that one of the Finishing Moves in the Vanguard Beta is making use of a Modern Warfare gun.
It’s no secret that Call of Duty Vanguard has been a struggle to get ready. After alleged internal disputes at Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch took over the production of 2020’s Black Ops Cold War.
From there, Sledgehammer had a total overhaul, with a massive new hiring wave necessary to launch Vanguard in 2021. In the past, we’ve seen assets from an unreleased Black Ops 5 surface in Cold War, due to Treyarch’s rush to get last year’s title ready.
Now, the same issue is arising again, with a Modern Warfare gun appearing in Vanguard.
Fans were happy to hear that Vanguard would return to the Modern Warfare engine, but we’re sure no one’s a fan of the game feeling like a copy/paste job.
But when you’re re-using assets, some things will always slip through the cracks… And it didn’t take long for fans to notice the M19 pistol from Modern Warfare appearing in one of Vanguard’s Finishing Moves.
You’d have to be quick to spot the error but it’s fairly glaring once you see it in action. After all, the modern weapon certainly looks out of place among the grit of WW2.
Perhaps this is just Sledgehammer teasing that long-awaited Warzone integration! Or, more likely, perhaps this is just an error caused by rushed development.
After all, for the first time ever, Treyarch is stepping in to handle the Zombies content in Vanguard. And it seems that Activision has every available studio making sure that Vanguard is ready to launch this year.
Even then, it seems that Vanguard won’t have a Zombies map on launch day!
On top of that, the Vanguard Beta is unplayable on last-gen consoles too. And if there’s not a fix by release day, we expect that Vanguard won’t perform all too well in Holiday 2021.
