It looks like Battle Royale is finally on the horizon, after months of discussions regarding the last-man-standing mode. Following Modern Warfare update 1.14 on all platforms, Infinity Ward has updated the in-game menu.

Modern Warfare CLASSIFIED Section

If you’ve been lucky enough to already download the latest patch, you’ll probably have noticed a new addition to the starting menu. It now includes a “CLASSIFIED” section right in the middle. This presumably means one thing, and no, it’s almost certainly not Zombies.

Modern Warfare Classified Menu

Battle Royale is back! That’s if the new CLASSIFIED section is anything to go by because let’s face it, it’s probably not going to be anything else. Of course, even though it’s existence hasn’t been officially confirmed, it will most likely be a fully-fledged Battle Royale mode.

For those of you don’t know, Classified essentially means restricted or secret information. You cannot click on the section as it is locked, but that’s obviously expected.

The Classified mode is also accompanied by the Campaign, Spec-Ops, Multiplayer, and the Store. This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, however. The main menu has always included these portions of the game.

New Call of Duty Modern Warfare Main Menu

Just before you log into Call of Duty Modern Warfare, you might also notice a new preview screen. Whether or not this hints towards Battle Royale is any way, shape or form remains unknown. This is just one minor change made in today’s update, you can check out the Modern Warfare 1.14 patch notes via this link.

Modern Warfare Battle Royale Release Date

Although Infinity Ward hasn’t officially shed light on Modern Warfare’s Battle Royale release date, we might still have a rough idea of when it’ll be coming out.

Our guess is that Battle Royale will launch in the middle of Season Two, even though it was not alluded to in the official roadmap. The Season 2 mid-refresh will likely arrive at the beginning of March 2020.

On the other hand, if it doesn’t launch then, it’ll probably release day-one of Season 3. That’s assuming the mode is on the horizon, of course.
