With Season Two of Modern Warfare now in full-swing, it appears as though new information is starting to surface. Battle Royale now seems all but confirmed, as a new leak reveals key art for a mode called ‘Call of Duty: Warzone’.
Infinity Ward is yet to confirm the existence of Battle Royale, let alone discuss when it’ll be releasing. However, as the evidence continues to mount, the mode seems almost certainly on the horizon.
In addition to the Classified element, Modern Warfare Season 2 also introduced a brand-new in-game cinematic trailer yesterday. Towards the end of it, you’ll notice that players are dropping outside of a large plane. This is presumably yet another teaser for Battle Royale.

Call of Duty Warzone (Battle Royale) Key Art
Earlier today, a new Modern Warfare leak emerged on Reddit. One user posted an image of the Call of Duty Warzone key art. This image was unable to be verified, but Activision has since been taking down any social media posts that feature it, suggesting the image is indeed legitimate.
The image depicts Ghost standing on top of a chopper, in addition to a few other Operators. With this in mind, it would seem as though this image is actually tied to Modern Warfare. Perhaps it also confirms Battle Royale – which is presumably Call of Duty Warzone – is coming later on in Season 2.
Glitch Takes Players Into Modern Warfare Warzone Lobby
Yesterday, a new mysterious ‘CLASSIFIED’ section appeared on the in-game menu. Hence the name, you were unable to get into this mode – but that didn’t stop players from figuring out what it was referring to. Of course, the section was likely a hint towards some type of Battle Royale mode, as it’s probably not going to anything else.
Since then, a glitch has placed one player into a lobby within the Classified section. Indeed, Call of Duty: Warzone seems to be the name of this new mode.
As you can see from the images, there’s an option for Weapons, Operators, and Barracks. Most importantly, there seems to also be an option available for Drop Kits. You might also notice an option Training and Squad Fill, although this doesn’t come as much of a surprise.
We stress that even though the amount of evidence is overwhelming, there’s still been no official word that Battle Royale is coming to Modern Warfare. We’ll share further details once Infinity Ward reveals new information.
