Modern Warfare 2: Will CoD Points Transfer From Battlenet to Steam?

With the announcement that the Call of Duty series will return to Steam with the upcoming release, will CoD Points transfer from Battle.net to Steam with Modern Warfare 2?

We finally got a glimpse of 2022’s Call of Duty entry, with the Modern Warfare 2 reveal trailer dropping yesterday.

Alongside that came a lot of information regarding the sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare, including the reveal that Modern Warfare 2 will be released on Steam. This is the first time a CoD game has been on Steam since 2017.

However, many PC players have converted to Battle.net to play Call of Duty and may want to return to Steam for Modern Warfare 2. But will your CoD points transfer from Battle.net to Steam?

Do Call of Duty Points Transfer from Battle.net to Steam in Modern Warfare 2?

An email from an Activision Player Support agent has seemingly confirmed that CoD Points don’t transfer from Battle.net to Steam for Modern Warfare 2.

It seems when Activision gave us a lot of information regarding Modern Warfare 2, they didn’t mention that you’ll lose CoD Points if you go back to Steam.

Twitter user @TheNanikoss shared an email they received from Activision Player Support shortly after the reveal trailer.

The Activision Support agent states “please be informed that [CoD Points] are saved on the platform account.”

After that, the agent continues with “If you have CoD Points on Battlenet, they will not carry over as you play the game on Steam and vice versa.”

It’s safe to say players aren’t happy with this decision. One reply to Nanikos’ tweet says “What the f**k? What is the point of having an “Activision account” then?”

In reality, it may be an issue to do with either Valve’s or Activision’s TOS. However, it’s still frustrating, so you may want to spend all of your CoD Points before buying MW2 on Steam.

But if you’re hoping to get a headstart when MW2 releases, you should check out all of the Modern Warfare 2 editions and their contents.

And an iconic map seems to be making a return in Modern Warfare 2, as players spot a Highrise reference in MW2’s reveal trailer.

Alongside the reveal of Modern Warfare 2, Activision gave some more information on Warzone 2.0. Here’s everything we know about Warzone 2.0.

If I buy 2,400 cod points right now on my ps4, but don’t spend them, will I still have them on modern warfare 2 if i continue playing on the same platform and account?
