Modern Warfare 2 has decided to honor all sorts of relationships and situationships with their new Quick Play playlist names for Valentine’s Day, February 14.
Below you’ll find all the original names for the MW2 games mode and their newly added Valentine’s Day counterparts:
- Free-for-all – Single’s Appreciation Day
- Domination – Punish Me
- Search & Destroy – Looking For The One
- Headquarters – Love Hotel
- Kill Confirmed – Chill Confirmed
- Hardpoint – Heartpoint
The only modes that did not receive updates are Team Deathmatch, Prisoner Rescue, and Knock Out. These names are only visible when filtering game modes for the Quickplay Playlist.

To filter out game modes for Quick Play, you’ll need to:
- Launch MW2.
- From the launch menu, scroll down to the second row titled “Games.”
- Choose the first option, MW2.
- A new menu will pop up with Quick Play as the first option you should see.
- Press Square/X to bring up the different game modes you can filter in and out.

- Here you can see all the newly added Modern Warfare 2 Valentine’s Day names.
Many players reacted quickly to the news, with plenty commenting on how “Punish Me” already seems like a normal mode regularly experienced in some lobbies and even Warzone 2.
Others commented that they’d feel more love if Infinity Ward were to add more MW2 content. Modern Warfare 2 has not yet introduced any new 6v6 maps since its launch.
It is unclear how long Infinity Ward plans to keep these names in Modern Warfare 2, but they will likely revert to normal after Valentine’s Day.
They could also wait until the official launch of MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 2. Season 2 promises to bring much-needed changes to the FPS shooter alongside Ranked Play, one of the most highly requested modes in MW2.
It may have taken a bit to release, but Treyarch has revealed some interesting new changes to Ranked Play that could make it the best version of the mode to date.
