Modern Warfare 2 Moshpit is bringing back five iconic MW2 (2022) maps to MW3 this week – here’s which ones you can expect!
MW2 had a fair amount of complaints regarding its maps, but that didn’t stop a few multiplayer arenas from becoming fan favorites.
Mostly, it seemed that Call of Duty players were upset about the lack of classic MW2 maps in the game’s roster. But as we now know, Activision was saving those remakes to get players to buy MW3 the following year.
Now, MW2 (2023) maps are getting a second chance to shine, in a new dedicated playlist.
MW2 Moshpit Maps
In the Modern Warfare 2 Moshpit mode, players will be able to battle it out on five maps from 2022’s best-selling title:
- Farm 18
- Crown Raceway
- Shoot House
- Mercado Las Almas
- Breenbergh Hotel
These maps are sure to feel a little different with MW3’s mechanics and movement, so they may not play exactly as fans remember them.
Of course, all five arenas are still active in the actual Modern Warfare 2, should users prefer to return to how the game used to feel.
This isn’t the first time that Modern Warfare 2 Moshpit has arrived in-game – the playlist first surfaced shortly after launch, on November 16, 2023.
However, it’s a little disappointing to see that only a single map, Breenbergh Hotel, is being added to the Mosh Pit’s roster, considering the mode has been MIA for weeks.
Modern Warfare 2 Moshpit Release Date
The MW2 Moshpit will arrive in Modern Warfare 3 on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT.
The playlist will arrive back in-game in .
Will More MW2 Maps Come to MW3?
Yes, more MW2 map are confirmed to be coming to Modern Warfare 3 in later seasons.
Unfortunately for fans of El Asilo, Valderas Museum, or any other MW2 map, their favorite battleground didn’t make the cut this time.
We’re sure that Activision will add more MW2 maps to the mode as seasons continue, in fact it said as much in the MW3 Launch Comms blog post.
Seeing as though we got one new map in MW2 Mosh Pit’s second appearance, we wouldn’t expect arenas to be dropping too fast, though.
