Our first real look at Modern Warfare 2 gameplay could be coming next week, as some lucky gamers reportedly go hands-on with the title.
Call of Duty: Vanguard might be this year’s premium title, but the hype is all but gone for it. For the last few months, all anyone’s been talking about is Modern Warfare 2, the next game by Infinity Ward.
Despite the fact that Call of Duty 2022 won’t launch for several more months, even the marketing seems to be skewing towards MW2. Recently, Activision confirmed plans for a sequel to Modern Warfare dropping this year.
What’s more, it seems the company is putting all its eggs in Infinity Ward’s basket, with no mainline COD releasing in 2023!
Now, even Infinity Ward’s Twitter is directly teasing Modern Warfare 2! And new rumors suggest that gameplay might soon be on the way.
Modern Warfare 2 Playtests – The Game’s First Gameplay Leak?
According to one insider, residents and influencers in Southern California are being invited to test Modern Warfare 2 gameplay, ahead of an official reveal.
This news comes from leaker RalphsValve, who has had a lot to say on the upcoming title so far. Most notably, the supposed insider has teased an Attackers vs Defenders mode that sounds like Rainbow Six Siege!
RalphsValve also recently teased an April 30 reveal for MW2, but has since allegedly decided against sharing the confidential information.
Now, the leaker is claiming that some fans could be testing Modern Warfare 2 gameplay next week. The playtests will of course be under NDA, but we could definitely see a leak coming from the upcoming session.
We’d also advise taking this leak with a pinch of salt, as nothing is confirmed at this point.
What’s more, don’t forget that Warzone 2 will feature only Modern Warfare guns for 2 years. It sounds like a dream come true for Battle Royale fans.
