The pre-load times for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s Beta have been announced – here are all the confirmed details.

With the impending launch of Modern Warfare 2, fans are understandably eager to get their hands on it. Fortunately, for those who have access to the open-beta happening in just a few days, you won’t have to wait long.

However, you don’t want to be sat there on the day of the Beta twiddling your thumbs as it downloads. So, thankfully, Activision has announced the pre-load times for Modern Warfare 2.

If you’re waiting for the Open Beta that’s happening a little later, don’t worry. We have the release dates of all MW2 Betas to help you plan your play sessions.

MW2 Beta Pre-Load Times & Dates on All Platforms

PlayStation Pre-Load Times

Modern Warfare 2’s PlayStation Beta pre-load times start on September 14 at 10 AM PDT and will only be available for those who have pre-ordered the game on PS4 or PS5.

  • 10PM PDT (California)
  • 1PM EDT (New York)
  • 6PM BST (UK)
  • 3AM AEST (Australia – September 15)
PlayStation Pre-Load Is Now Available

This is only available to users who have early access to the MW2 Beta.

According to Activision, players with digital pre-orders will not require a Beta Code, gaining immediate entry to the Early Access and pre-load periods.

On the other hand, games that pre-ordered a physical copy of the game should have received a code for Beta access at the point of sale. This code will be required for the Early Access and pre-load.

PlayStation Pre-Load Countdown

If you pre-ordered MW2, you can pre-load the Beta on PlayStation in

PlayStation owners with pre-orders get access to the MW2 beta first. While the official start of the PlayStation Early Access period starts on September 16, you’ll be able to pre-load a lot earlier.

Xbox Pre-Load Times

UPDATE 9/20 – 4:15 PM ET – All players who have pre-ordered Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox now have access to pre-load the Open Beta.

Xbox Pre-Load Is Now Available

There is no pre-load time confirmed for Xbox players. Activision has announced that for right now, the pre-load perk is only available for PlayStation gamers with pre-orders.

It is unclear if that could change as the start date of the Open Beta gets closer. Players with pre-orders on the platform could get pre-load access for the Early Access period, but that is still up in the air.

The Xbox Early Access Beta starts on September 22, with open access starting on September 24, so only a handful of days after PlayStation players.

Much like Xbox players, there are no announced or confirmed MW2 Beta pre-load times for PC. The PC MW2 Beta Early Access period starts on September 22, with open access starting on September 24.

Unfortunately, players will have to wait a while before they can get their hands on the Modern Warfare 2 Beta. If this situation changes, we’ll update the article as soon as we learn more information.
