6 Star Raids Unlocked

Players will finally have a chance to catch the legendary Mewtwo the Unrivaled, but to do it, they’ll first need to defeat it in a 7 Star Tera Raid Event in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Like most 7 Star Tera Raid Events, the Unrivaled Mewtwo battle is one of the most difficult challenges that trainers will face in Pokemon. It is a Psychic Pokemon with a Psychic Tera-type, which means that trainers will need to bring their best Ghost and Dark types to battle.

However, with the right strategy and moves, you can guide your team to victory and capture the Unrivaled Mewtwo in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Mewtwo 7 Star Tera Raid Event starts on August 31, 2023, at 5 PM PT and will end on September 17, 2023, at 4:59 PM PT.

Mewtwo 7 Star Tera Raid Weakness & Counters

The Unrival Mewtwo 7 is weak to Bug, Ghost, and Dark Pokemon. This is why the best counters to use during this event are Gholengo, Wo-Chien, Spiritomb, Annihilape, or Mew.

All of these Pokemon use their type advantage to maximize the damage that players can do during the tera raid. This is one of the most important aspects when choosing a Pokemon to fight because of how durable the Tera Raids are.

We still don’t know what move set Mewtwo will use during the Tera Raid, but we will update this guide when we find out. Thankfully, we do know which moves may show up, so we can build counters using that.

Best Strategy Against Mewtwo in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

When you face the 7 Star Mewtwo Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you want to negate his high Attack stat with attacks like Light Screen or Snarl. This will allow you to set up powerful attacks and keep the timer from running out.

  1. To start off the battle, you want to use a defensive move like Light Screen or Snarl to bring down Mewtwo’s attack. This will help give you some breathing room during the battle.
  2. After using either Light Screen or Snarl, use a buffing move like Nasty Plot to raise your Attack.
  3. Once you are finished setting up, start launching your most powerful move.
  4. If you have a friend on your team that isn’t doing too much damage to Mewtwo, have them use their support commands to increase your ATK, DEF, or heal your Pokemon.
  5. For example, this is how a battle with Mew would look like:
    • First Move – Light Screen to lower Mewtwo’s Special Attack.
    • Second Move – Nasty Plot to raise Mew’s Special Attack.
    • Third Move – Acid Spray to deal damage.
    • Keep using Acid Spray. If you notice that Mewtwo is doing too much damage, use Snarl to lower his Special attack while still doing damage.

If you find that the teams you join are fainting too much and causing the timer to decrease too fast, then you can always give it a go solo with the Mew Tera Raid Build shown above.
