In the recent Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct, we got a look at what is likely one of Nintendo’s final special edition Switch variants. The Nintendo Switch OLED – Mario Red Edition is the first special edition Switch OLED to feature Mario’s iconic red coloring.
But that’s not all the console is hiding! On the back, players can spy a tiny silhouette of everyone’s favorite plumber himself.
What’s more, remove the back cover from the dock and you’ll even spy some secret coins, hidden from view.
Mario Red Nintendo Switch OLED Release Date
The Mario Red Nintendo Switch OLED will release on October 6, 2023. The console is already available for pre-order.
Despite the device being announced during a showcase for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, it is not themed around the new title, just Mario in general.
As such, it does not come bundled with the game, which releases separately on October 20, 2023.
Mario Red Nintendo Switch OLED Price
The Nintendo Switch OLED – Mario Red Edition costs $349.99.
This is the same price as a regular Switch OLED, and around $50 higher than the base Nintendo Switch.
