Call of Duty fans are upset with beloved character Soap MacTavish's new look in Warzone and Modern Warfare.
As a star of the original Modern Warfare trilogy, many Call of Duty players were upset when they found out that Soap would not be in the 2019 reboot.
However, he was hinted at in the hidden Warzone final cutscene and is now almost certainly making a spectacular return.
What Does Soap Look Like In Warzone & Modern Warfare?
This is what Soap will apparently look like in Modern Warfare and Warzone, according to data-miners.
While many fans love that he is back, many of them are upset by his altered appearance. It has been significantly changed from the original trilogy and even Modern Warfare 2 Remastered's face model.
Fan Reactions to Soap's New Look
Some fans have even taken to making fun of Soap's new look. Redditor S-rex33 jokingly dubbed this new version of Soap 'Shampoo'.
Other fans have posted side-by-side comparisons of Soap's appearance change.
Infinity Ward's decision to recast his voice actor also hasn't gone down well. Fans with a keen ear have noticed that his voice is no longer provided by original voice actor Kevin McKidd.
This version of Soap looks certain to stay, as it's already in the game's files. Whether long-time fans of the series will eventually warm to the change in Soap's appearance and voice actor is another matter.
When Will Soap be Playable?
Data-miners have found that the Soap Operator pack is already in the game's files. The pack will cost 2400 COD Points and is set to launch during Season 1.
The pack also comes with three weapon blueprints and other items, including an icon, a banner, and a spray.
Better news for long time fans is that Mastercraft weapons are coming to Warzone for the first time ever.
This isn't Call of Duty's only recent controversy. Players are also upset about Modern Warfare's 'forced Cold War inclusion'.
