Raven Software has revealed in a blog post they will be making changes to how often players can access a Loadout Drop, making it a more frequent event in Warzone 2.

The Warzone 2 developers have also revealed that custom perk packages will be returning to Warzone 2 in Season 2. Previously, players were only able to select from the preset packages.

Loadouts in Warzone 2 have seen some major changes from the original Warzone. However, now they have been retracted to act more like how they used to.

Warzone 2 Season 2 Loadout Drop Changes

In Warzone 2 Season 2, there will be a ton of changes to how Loadout Drops work. Loadout drops can currently be bought at a buy station, earned at a Stronghold or Blacksite, or collected in the fifth circle.

However, it will now become easier to collect your custom weapons in the Season 2 update. Here are the changes coming to Loadout Drops:

  • Loadout Drops prices at Buy Stations will be slightly reduced
    • Current Prices:
      • Solos: $8,000
      • Duos: $16,000
      • Trios: $24,000
      • Quads: $32,000
  • On extremely rare occasions, you can find random Loadout Drop markers while looting, similar to finding other Field Upgrades
  • A second Loadout Drop event will be added – There will be one on the first circle and fifth circle of each match
  • Primary Weapons prices at Buy Stations will be reduced
  • All Buy Stations will have an unlimited stock of Loadout Drop Markers

In Warzone 2 Season 2, the Gulag will also be receiving a massive overhaul. Players can expect the Gulag to revert to a 1v1 format amongst a ton of other changes.

Custom Perks Coming to Warzone 2 in Season 2

The ability to add custom perks to your loadouts will be coming to Warzone 2 in Season 2. Currently, players can only choose from 8 packages.

This was an intended change to the game with Infinity Ward feeling custom perks would not be balanced. Now, in Season 2, you will be able to create your own packages, although not all perks will be available.

This feature will launch with a slightly reduced pool of available Perks, which we may slowly reintroduce over time

This is likely referring to the Birdseye perk which is extremely powerful in Warzone 2 at the moment. This is one of the strongest in the game, and Raven Software will probably look for a way to balance it before adding it to the custom perk options.

Season 2 is looking like it will overhaul large aspects of the Battle Royale game. With the new economy changes coming, such as lowered buy prices and more lootable cash, custom weapons will be way easier to obtain!
